During my recent visit to ilusión, I had the pleasure of being served by an outstanding bartender named Eric. His impressive skills in mixology were matched only by his warm and friendly personality, which made my experience truly enjoyable.
From the moment I approached the bar, Eric's enthusiasm was contagious, creating a welcoming atmosphere. His deep knowledge of the drink menu shone through as he skillfully suggested cocktails that perfectly suited my tastes. It is rare to find someone so approachable, whose engaging conversation turned a simple drink order into a delightful exchange.
The ambiance of ilusión further enriched my experience. The carefully chosen music complemented the lively yet sophisticated setting, creating an inviting aura that made me feel at ease. The overall energy in the bar was vibrant and uplifting, making it a wonderful escape from the everyday hustle and bustle.
In conclusion, my visit to ilusión was not just a meal, but a delightful journey marked by exceptional service and a lively atmosphere, largely thanks to Eric’s outstanding hospitality. I left feeling very satisfied and eager to return. I wholeheartedly recommend ilusión to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience, and I look forward to my next visit with the wonderful Eric and the enchanting ambiance of this...
Read moreLet's start with tables. We have made a reservation for six. The table they crammed us into would have been adequate for two. We had to sit away from the table as our feet and knees touched. We commented on pushing another table over to accommodate our party, but this too fell on deaf ears. There were plenty of unused tables, so availability was not the issue. Service is beyond slow. If you ask for something, be prepared to wait 15 minutes for something as simple as a tortilla. Chips and salsa - that's extra. One small bowl of chips, and three tablespoon size salsas, we ordered more at an additional charge. The food, while overpriced, was decent. A small glass of 'nothing special wine' - $18. Normal sides at most Mexican restaurants were only available ala cart. The extra plates wouldn't fit on our child's size table, so we ended up piling it on our plates and returned the extra plates. It appears that if you sit on the patio, you can find a larger table, however, it was a little too breezy for that option. This place has potential, but it hasn't been discovered...
Read moreI LOVE this place, the one star reviews are super weird especially those claiming it’s not “family friendly.” They market themselves as a cocktail lounge. Would you take your kids to Henry’s Cigar Lounge down the street for a Halloween party? Probably not. Unfair to give them one star for your lack or research as a parent. A Quick Look at their website could have told you they don’t recommend children after 10pm. As a parent myself though, I started going every Friday at 5pm for Lent because their Ceviche is SO good and I take my 12 year old with me and we love it! Kayla is usually our server and she’s so great and kind. We have tried the flautas, birria tacos, birria sandwich, burrito, ceviche, carne asada fries, shrimp tacos, and quesadilla and we’ve loved it all. I appreciate the music playing, their patio is beautiful, they have always been so kind to us, and it really captures the Mexico City vibe inside. I...
