I ordered a medium spicy pep duo pizza, jalapeno poppers, and a small order of cheesy breadsticks for lunch today. Always exciting to try a new pizza joint out. I can say I wasn't disappointed, but I also wouldn't say I was wowed either.
This is very straightforward local pizzeria quality food. The pizza was good. I liked the sauce a lot and the pepperoni were really good. I'm not sure it was worth $16.50 for a medium though.
The jalapeno poppers were the weak point in the meal, and they often are when ordered at a pizza joint. I put some hot honey sauce on them and that perked them up a bit. They aren't bad, but they aren't anything that's gonna bring you back. The portion size for them is great though. You get eight of them for a little over $8. That's really good value.
The best part of the meal, and by a long shot, were the cheesy bread sticks. They had a very healthy helping of parmesan cheese and garlic on them. Absolutely delicious. I assumed they came with some sort of marinara, sadly they did not. That's on me. I should have asked about that when I called in my order. But man, with marinara these would be fantastic. And at $7.50 for a small, (and despite being called a small it's a sizeable serving), there is great value there.
Depending on what you get, I could easily see this place being a 4/5 pizzeria. The poppers really disappointed me though.
Will I be back? Maybe. Lot of competition in the pizza industry, but they do offer by the slice. Which might be enough to have me come back for a smaller meal with a friend to try some other items on their menu.
It's definitely worth trying...
Read moreI always had a good opinion of 2 cousins but that changed after today. I place an online I order that was set to be picked up at 4:26. I showed up at 4:26 and they said it would be another 10 minutes. I then proceeded to sit in front of the kitchen window for another 20 minutes until I lost my patience and walked up to the window to ask how much longer it would be. They then walked away and saw that my order had been sitting on top of the oven for god knows how long. Normally I wouldnt write a review except on top of all this there was no remorse or apology from any of the staff there. I'd give this 0 stars if I could I recommend ANY OTHER pizza place in Mansfield other than 2 cousins. Truly disappointing.
UPDATE The owner responded to this to give the illusion that they were so extremely busy that my order got lower priority in the queue. I would absolutely understand this however there were only 2 other people sat in the restaurant, who i later found out were other employees on break, and nobody came in during my entirety of sitting there to pick up an order. There also seems to be a pattern where the owner blames the online tool as if it is something outside of their control, my suggestion would be to find a new online tool or don't...
Read moreThis is the second time with in a month I have gotten pizza from two cousins, and something about the experience has been less than acceptable. The previous time I ordered two pizzas I went in. The lady was on the phone with someone else and just distracted with other things. I waited quite a long time to have her argue with me about my order. Once i got my orders i took them home and the one pizza looked as though they threw around the box and the cheese and toppings were stuck to the box. I just ordered again, and we had to call in to order because the online option does not give you the choice to do half cheese and half neat. I am a vegetarian so we wanted to make sure that we were able to specify. When we got the pizza it was very burnt and the entire pizza was co red in pepperoni. I couldn't even pick it off and still have cheese due to the way they layer it and how burnt the cheese was. 22$ down the drain. I would not recommend this place. Customer service has fallen away, and they are no longer attentive to...
