Mihana Sushi — Restaurant in Manteca

Poor customer service. Sushi chef frequently wiped his nose with bare hands without washing them after. He continued to work behind the counter. When this concern was addressed, the waitress became confrontational with us and she argued he only touched the plastic wrapping on the food containers. He even glared at us as the concern was being discussed.

In addition, our wasabi had discoloration on the edges from sitting out for a long period of time prior to us arriving. The soup and edamame beans were room temperature when they arrived to our table.

To make this situation even more offensive my husband is Japanese from Hokkaido and he was so upset that he vowed to never come here again because it misrepresented the Japanese culture. In Japan, food is prepared like an art piece and cleanliness is high priority. This is far from what we are use to.

There are many sushi places, but this is my sushi place. The care and the atmosphere that is put into this place is just simply phenomenal. And the sushi is not overpriced.You get more than you pay for in my honest opinion, huge chunks of sushi. ( See video below) they have absolutely fresh tasting fish and the best part is I don't have to wait twenty to thirty minutes just to get a plate it's about 5 minutes for a regular or 10ish for a specialty. And the prices are so good me, and my family of 3-6 we'll gorge ourselves and spend 80-100. They don't skimp on the wasabi or ginger, as well, which I can really appreciate.The service is kind and friendly as well.They're always checking to see if we need a refill, or if we need another order. Just had the worst experience at this Sushi spot. Placed an order to go.. from the start I was rushed to hurry up and give the order. I was told to arrive in 30 min. Because I’m New to Manteca I asked where they were located. The advised next to Target. Well they are not next to Target but in the Pet Smart shopping plaza. I arrive it was VERY busy. The older lady at the front assisting at the front was absolutely very rude.. pretty much the vibe to get out of her way. I proceed to pay for my food that pretty much had sat on a counter behind them. Then I realized they had forgotten a roll. So of course I was charged for their error. I get home and try my food.. it’s Absolutely TERRIBLE!!!! Cold. The salad looks terrible and old .. the rolls just awful!!! So pretty much $100 bucks waisted on dinner.
