Not only do I have a huge issue with Home Depot themselves on installation, but this particular Home Depot has THE most redundant and useless telephone system in the world. You just go around and around and still get a recording at the end...to wait some more!
I ordered carpet special order, one roll, one dye lot. Came in two rolls, and I was 'told' same dye lots. It was not, they do not match. After making some 20+ phone calls over the period of 3 days the issue is still not resolved. The installers were called off the job (Romanoff Innovations) by their manager, 'Mario' when it wasn't even half done. So here I sit with a 2300 sq. ft home of furniture in one room basically, waiting, and waiting and waiting.
I cannot reach the store manager. After making multiple calls to the store, and going through all of their prompts each time, you still get the end result; A recording saying 'All of our associates are busy, please call back or stay on the line'. I have stayed on the line over 30 minutes, but no one ever answered. I have spoken to a couple of lesser 'Manager of the Day' associates, but to no avail.
I was told by one associate that Romanoff Innovations has been out to inspect the carpet, and they say it matches. That is a blatant lie. No one has been out to my home. Even their installers say it does not match. So I am sitting here still after 7 days with no carpet, and my house still in chaos. In a subsequent conversation with one manager, he said I would have to pay a 'tear out' fee and a 'restocking fee' if the little bit that had been installed does not match. Are you kidding me? And, then wait again all those weeks for delivery and/or installation.
The Romanoff Innovations people were to call the day before install to let us know what we had to do in preparation, as far as our personal furnishings etc. No one called. And, the installer was at our door at 7:30 on the agreed upon day. Fortunately for us we had 'furniture removal' included, but actually didn't know how much of the furniture they would be moving or where. We have been having tremendous storms here this past two weeks. AND, no one from Romanoff Innovations has even bothered to contact us. even with a job this large unfinished. I hope Home Depot rethinks their contract with this sub contractor as they are just the normal 'get the money and run' type of company, from what I can see. Although the two installers were terrific. Another silver lining to a black cloud.
We are one of their biggest customers, owning a business of our own, and have never had an issue like this, as our Pro Rewards account will show. But, nor have we ever used their services for installation Services. It will be the first and last time.
However with this issue, we see now that management and the folks that would be able to actually help us are just not available for any reason. I refuse to go the trip into town just to have to wait for some 'Manager of the Day' to tell me again he will get back to me. Four of those have told me on the phone they will get back to me, and no one has even bothered to do that.
The silver lining to this problem is one of their associates in the Flooring Department, Shawna. She has been a consistent and knowledgeable employee for years there. And she having overheard the telephone conversation I was having with one employee, actually took the time to call me back. She was the initial employee who took our order, I believe. But, over and above that, she took it upon herself to reach out to me, saying she would make sure we had resolve. However, at wits end today, she is off today!
I had no choice but to escalate this to the Home Depot home office, customer care for home...

I took a new INVACARE brand grab bar to Home Depot to find some fasteners or longer screws to finally install it. I had located the studs and just needed longer screws to reach through the 1" thick shower enclosure and the sheet rock, if any, to reach the stud. I flagged down a guy in the isle and asked for some guidance.
He proceeded to express concern about the water pipes at the foot of the shower and proceeded to recommend the WINGITS Anchors explaining that at a 600 lb capacity rating they were stronger than screwing into a stud. He also point out that since you did not need a stud there was more flexibility for mounting locations. He added that with only 4 anchors per box, 2 boxes were needed in addition to a special 3/4" drill bit. It sounded like he knew what he was talking about.
I followed the man's instructions to make three 3/4" holes into the shower wall and then installed the anchors only to find that the WINGITS Anchors would not fit correctly. I COULD NOT MOUNT MY GRAB BAR AND I NOW HAD 3/4" HOLES IN MY WALL.
I returned to the scene of the crime, asked to speak to someone who could help me find the right fasteners to install my 12", stainless steel INVACARE grab bar and a department manager greeted me. I told him what I was trying to accomplish and he showed me the TB-WingIts-RES Anchors. I explained that he was the second HD employee to recommend this product and described for him in detail (using photographs) why this product was not working. I reiterated that I originally came in looking for looking for longer screws to reach the studs behind the shower enclosure when I was shown the WingIts RES Anchors. After discussing the fit problem with the fasteners and how the "installation instructions" the first guy me had potentially left me with a stray hole that would have to be filled some how the manager offered another approach to deviate from the Anchor installation instructions to make the anchors work.
I went home, and followed he manager's instruction to try and get the anchors to work. Sound insane yet? Well, I did this making new holes on a small mock up of my wall- 2nd failure. If it smells like bull crap guess what?
The next morning I did some research on line, www, utube and called WingIts. Bottom line, WingIts Anchors are strong engineered anchors, but only designed to be used in certain ways or with specific compatible products. When incorrectly used they may not provide the desired fit or strength potential.
More specifically, the TB-WingIts-RES anchors are not compatible with my INVACARE grab bar. The anchors are engineered to be installed certain way- deviating from the installation instructions may alter the strength of the anchors. I was sold the wrong product, for use with incompatible hardware, for a SAFETY item. I have three holes in my shower wall, I was given bad informaion, and I am not happy. At least two people at Home Depot are recommending a product they know too little about and potentially causing unknown damages...

I asked him if he could put a band on it for me and load it on my trailer with the forklift. I guess I interrupted him while he was having a conversation with his coworker and told me it doesnāt work like that you have to buy a whole bundle or I cannot Load it with my forklift. Once the strap has been cut off. I told him I spend between $50-$100,000 in that store every year and Iāve had multiple employees wrap my Wood in band that they do have on site and load it with the forklift. I have a blown out back and I need all the help I can get he said sorry about your luck, buddy. I canāt help you. I go to the register and the young lady there said we have one guy today helping load material. His name is David. I will send him over. Great young man. He loaded 7212 foot boards was one of my employees then he turned around and asked me, sir would you like me to wrap that with a band? I said yes, I would but Hem The man in charge of the lumber department told me that they donāt do that. He said I donāt know what heās talking about. We do it all the time young David wrapped my material with band and then another gentleman loaded it with a forklift on my trailer the whole time. Hem is sitting there with a disgusted look on his face, shaking his head like he was irritated at young David for helping a customer very disappointing that a man is there to do a job and he will not do it and refuses to do it and comes up with excuses not to do it but yet a young gentleman like David went above and beyond to help A paying customer out like he is supposed to I donāt know who that young man is, but he should be in charge of your lumber department. he deserves a raise, and that other gentleman. Hem should be demoted if he wants to sit there and talk to coworkers instead of taking care of the customers, heās not responsible enough to be in charge of the lumber department from now on if I see that gentleman in the lumber department, I will get in my truck and go to Loweās I will not spend any more of my hard earned money for some gentleman that does not respect his customers very very disappointed in that man, but on a sidenote, the cashier and young David are great employees and if you guys were to give David a promotion and let him run that number department, I would be back every day like I have been for the last 10 years. I donāt complain about much but itās ridiculous. Whenever a man would rather sit there and talk to his coworkers and help out of paying customer very...
