Taco John's — Restaurant in Maple Grove

Update: I emailed the Taco John's through the website and got a response around 5 days later. I was granted a free combo meal. When I went to the window to order, they ensured that my items were made fresh and hot. It was so tasty! It kind of made up for it, but unfortunately they only offered the free combo at the Maple Grove location only. That is at least 25 minutes from my house, and I just happened to be in the area the first time I stopped. Kind of disappointed by that aspect of it as they were the ones that messed up.

I love love love Taco John's. I've been a lifelong customer. But I left disappointed the other day. I ordered a meat and potato burrito combo with fried chicken and an extra large potato ole. That all came to $16. The burrito, when I took it out of the bag, was so small. It was like a value menu burrito size, if even that. I was like um what? I opened it out of curiosity because there is NO WAY it should be that tiny. There were only two strips of chicken and NO potatoes. And the other toppings were very sparse like the lettuce and tomato. The potato oles I ordered were filled very sparingly as well, compared to what they used to be. You are NOT going to stay in business charging people $16 for value menu portions of food. That is ridiculous. I lodged a complaint through the website as well but have received zero response. I was ripped off, and I should be made whole. There is no way I am going to tell employees face to face, who handle my food, that they screwed up, since said food can be tampered...

Unfortunately, this is not a positive review of TJs. We ordered customized nachos on the app for pick up. When we arrived to say we had an online pickup, we were immediately scolded that our order wasn’t ready yet. That’s not a problem especially in these times when employees are scarce. I just wish we weren’t treated in such a rude disrespectful manner. When we got home our nachos were not made to order. We asked for extra meat and cheese with sour cream. Instead we got beans, tomatoes and guacamole none of which were included in our customized order. We also did not get extra meat. I can’t eat tomatoes so we called the store to see if they could make us another order that we could pick up. The man was unreasonably rude and cut us off to say he made the order and he specifically put extra meat and cheese on it. Please see the above pic and decide for yourself if it looks like extra meat and cheese. We were also accused of lying. We asked why he had to be rude about it and why were tomatoes on it. Couldn’t he just apologize and make a new order for us? He said that their system somehow magically added tomatoes, beans and guacamole to the order. When someone is that rude and illogical it’s not worth trying to speak logically to him. Be ware if something is wrong with your order because they will treat you as if it is your fault...

Taco Bell just lost another customer! I ordered two Supreme Burritos with Grilled Chicken and got two bean and cheese burritos. I returned to the store as I thought they surly must have given me the wrong food vs what I paid for ($12.60 with tax for two supreme burritos) and they remade ONE of the two burritos that I paid for that should include CHICKEN and they remade my burrito with what appeared to be a TEASPOON full of chicken! Yup. Taco Johns must be trying to SAVE MONEY by SKYMPING CUSTOMERS on their protein and packing our burritos with BEANS instead. This is FALSE ADVERTISING as you are getting the equivalent of a protein flavoring vs actual protein-chicken due to the fact the amount was so TINY. I told my family, we are done.
