Agustino's Mexican Food: A Marble Falls Gem on Wheels
Forget your fancy sit-down restaurants, the real Mexican magic in Marble Falls is happening at Agustino's Mexican Food truck. This unassuming spot is serving up some seriously incredible food, and my recent experience with their nachos has completely reset my expectations.
Let's talk about these nachos. I've had my fair share of nachos, from stadium concessions to upscale Mexican eateries, but nothing, and I mean nothing, compares to what Agustino's is dishing out. I'm not exaggerating when I say they were 100 times better than anything you'd find in a higher-end establishment. The chips were perfectly crisp, the cheese was melty and plentiful, and the toppings were fresh and vibrant.
What truly elevates these nachos, though, is the sheer generosity and the option to customize. I was initially planning on ordering a full order, but the incredibly kind lady at the truck wisely advised me against it, explaining the portion size. Thank goodness I listened! The half order was still a mountain of deliciousness, and I honestly struggled to finish it despite my best efforts.
And the best part? They let you choose two different types of meat on your nachos! This is a game-changer. I opted for a combination (though I'm kicking myself for not remembering exactly which two!), and the flavors complemented each other perfectly. Each bite was an explosion of savory goodness.
Beyond the incredible food, the service was also fantastic. The woman at the truck was friendly, patient, and genuinely seemed to care about her customers' experience. Her honest advice about the portion size was much appreciated and speaks volumes about their integrity.
Here's a quick rundown:
Food Quality: Absolutely phenomenal. The nachos are a must-try, exceeding expectations by a mile. Portion Size: Be warned, even the half order is substantial! Come hungry or be prepared to share (or take some home for later). Customization: The ability to choose two different meats for the nachos is a brilliant touch. Service: Friendly, helpful, and genuine.
The Verdict:
If you're in Marble Falls and craving authentic, mouthwatering Mexican food, skip the fancy restaurants and head straight to Agustino's Mexican Food truck. Their nachos alone are worth the trip, and I have no doubt the rest of their menu is equally delicious. Just trust the friendly folks at the truck when they talk about portion sizes – you won't be disappointed (or hungry!). I can't wait to go back and try more of their offerings. Agustino's is a...
Read moreI have come realize that Mexican food in Texas is very different from Southern California Mexican food. But when I saw the photos for this place, I felt I had found the style I am used to. Unfortunately, what I received is not what was in the pictures.
I came here mostly for the carne asada tacos in the photo. Delicious grilled meat with chopped raw onions and fresh cilantro. But what I got was meat that was very gristly and flavorless, the onions were not chopped and they were not raw and if there was cilantro... I couldn't find it. Even the lime wedges they provided were dried out with little or no juice in them.
I also ordered the carne quesadilla. Unfortunately, I didn't see the menu which stated it comes with onion, tomato and bell pepper. Never in my life have I ever had a quesadilla with onions and bell peppers. I just saw "Quesadilla" on the menu and ordered it. After picking all the onions and peppers off, there is just a small amount of the carne asada and again, it was the chewy, gristly meat as was in the tacos.
I ordered the green hot sauce, but I can assure you... it is not hot. In fact, it has the consistency of water and tastes almost like water. We were really excited from the photos but what we received, looks very different from the photos. I can't imagine...

Finally, great Mexican food, which can be purchased for something other than cash!
It has been a difficult journey to find such a place in an area one would assume would have excellent Mexican food; alas, my experiences have been dreadful to mediocre, or simply unattainable because the owners are shady and only accept cash to avoid tax liability.
Regardless, this, of course, is not this excellent establishment.
The food here is plentiful, efficiently served, fairly priced and made with care by a family.
I find their breakfast and lunch tacos to be as good as any, and their breakfast plates are excellent.
Best Mexican in...
