I want to give an honest and sincere review of this pizza spot. First and foremost, I absolutely love the pizza dough—it’s fantastic. Truly one of the best I’ve had in the area, and as a self-proclaimed pizza lover, that’s saying a lot. The dough is on the thinner side, which I personally enjoy for slices.
I discovered this place while DoorDashing in the area and decided to give it a try since it’s quite popular. I usually stick to cheese pizza because it allows me to fully appreciate the basics—the flavor of the sauce and the quality of the dough without any toppings overshadowing them. And let me say, the dough gets a 10/10 from me. It’s perfectly made, flavorful, and just incredible.
However, I gave the place four stars because I didn’t enjoy the sauce as much as I’d hoped. Don’t get me wrong—it’s not bad at all, just not my favorite compared to some other places I’ve tried. The sauce has a tangy, herby flavor, and while many people might love that profile, I personally prefer the tang dialed down a bit. If you like tangy tomato sauces, this will probably be perfect for you. For comparison, I really love the sauce at Vito’s Gourmet Pizza on Atlantic, but that’s just my personal preference.
Aside from the pizza, I also tried the Zeppole, and wow—10/10. Absolutely perfect. The dough (which I found out is the same pizza dough) is incredible, and the powdered sugar on top was just the right amount. While it doesn’t need anything else, I personally would’ve loved a caramel dipping sauce just because I have a big sweet tooth. Regardless, the Zeppole alone is worth a try.
As for the atmosphere, the staff is consistently friendly and welcoming. Every time I’ve been there to pick up orders, they’ve been communicative and kind, which is refreshing. However, I do feel like the interior is a bit on the darker side. While that’s the trend these days, I personally prefer brighter, well-lit dining spaces.
Lastly, cleanliness. I’d rate it an 8/10. The place isn’t dirty by any means, but I’m a bit particular about things being enclosed and mindful of cross-contact between prepping dough and serving customers. That’s more of a personal preference than a dealbreaker, though.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend giving this place a try. The dough is absolutely stellar, the Zeppole is a must, and the friendly atmosphere makes it a solid spot. If you’re into tangy tomato sauces, the pizza might become your favorite. Let me know what you’ve tried or what you recommend I...
Read moreThe Annie’s Pizza in Coconut Creek should not be confused with the Annie’s Pizza in Coral Springs. They could not be more different. The Annie’s in Coral Springs is far superior in food quality, portions, pricing and friendliness.
Firstly the portions. Couldn’t be smaller. The smallest from a pizzeria I’ve seen in a long time. The meatballs on a large hero could have been put in a small hero. Same with the eggplant parmigiana. Secondly, the sauce is bland as could be. Not much flavor at all. And they are skimpy with it. It is bright red and looks and tastes like it is from a jar.
The pizza is ok. However! What they call a 16 inch or large pie, is a medium pie. There is no way it was 16 inches. Normally if my wife and order a pie we always have left overs. With their large pie we had to eat the whole thing to feel full. When I called Annie’s to discuss it with them, they were combative and hostile. Their response was “the owner made the pizza and used a 16 inch pie”. Maybe they are using the metrics system or something!
Then, lastly, there is the $4.99 delivery charge that goes to the house. That fee is outrageous. I was going to order a large meatball sub. Between the sub, the delivery charge and the $5 tip to the driver I was $25 in the hole for one sub. That is is just ridiculous. How about a more reasonable fee like $2 or $3 dollars like most places?? Especially since none of that fee is going to the driver.
We will be ordering from their competitors from now on. We found one that is cheaper and way better quality food. The delivery charge is cheaper and the people there couldn’t be nicer. That still counts for...
Read moreI have never left a negative review in my life, but really felt compelled to do so after talking to the manager/owner. My daughter ordered food while she was at dance class and called them back to add to her order. It's a good thing I was there when she called them and had the call on speaker. When she asked was it too late to add to her order, his response "I don't understand why you didn't order everything the first time, you need to make sure you order all at once" with a very NASTY tone. I out loud said okay so can she place the order or not? Which he then replied if you are going to be rude, I'm not going to take your order because I don't have to. At that point I took the phone from my daughter and removed it from speaker. I told him that he was being rude so he disconnected the call. I called again and asked to speak to a manager and that is when I learned that he was the manager and owner. So nothing was resolved as he continued with the same tone. But hey, not surprised as one of his delivery guys wasn't too pleasant once after I complained about the delivery time. Like they say, employees are a reflection of their managers. I will never allow my daughter to order there again and be sure to spread the word. Customer service is EVERYTHING and this guy should definitely take a training course on...
