UPDATE: 11/25/2020 Now OPEN, dine in, 11A - 9P, almost as normal. Hand cots required, as well as masks when not seated. Temperature scan-check on entry. Food is the same, it's great at a fair price. Super cooks. Noticeably. I always bring some cash for their tip jar because they do the best grilled wings, fajita beef, and magical melt in your mouth yet thoroughly grilled Chicken on a Stick, best. A n y w h e r e, at any price. Remember this, even if you don't choose the Mongolian style of select your ingredients and have them grill it option, because these guys have the best tasting dishes of any Asian+ Mex Amer. Buffet within a 25 mile radius.
Atlantic sushi chefs, also excellent. I don't want a zillion sushi choices, just the standard but artfully crafted, pillow seaweed sesame kind is present.
Scoopable ice cream adds to the class, again, speaks to quality. It's more work, likely more expensive, than the typical, prevalent grab some prepackaged or softserve style usually found at Buffets.
Always when I go I feel like the Kim Chee is just for me, lol. Well chilled, moist, marinated longtime, as good as Korean places, in Buford/Norcross/John's Creek/Alpha, Doraville/Chamblee sometimes better than there.
I love a good buffet. Been to them all, I would say. The Atlantic food quality here is higher end, in the world of buffets, it is high end. Roast always good, ribs same. Salad bar always fresh, (not only iceberg, several kinds of lettuce+ normal Spinach). Slaw, potato salad, excellent. Corn on cobb super, excellent sauteed mushrooms, bok choi properly perfectly done, unadulterated, everpresent. Spicy clams, best. Chicken rice noodles, just like Hawaii. Oysters on half shell, if you like.
Locals habla espanol, they have the crawdads, mound to your delight, child friendly.
The only other buffet offering wide variety yet comparable quality and care at unbeatable similar prices is on the other side of the metro in Norcross.
The Atlantic also features Smooth Jazz from high quality, good base response, drop-ceiling speakers, and driven with enough power to provide clean, quality sound. Yesterday I noticed Rick Braun, perhaps they will add Nelson Rangell, some old Sting (Nothing Like the Sun, hint hint). Prob have Keiko Matsui already. Windam Hill's Sampler '92 would be a perfect addition to the playlist (hint, if you can find it).
Atlantic has the best cooks, best fung shui, they grill better, season better, cook to definitely safe to eat levels, and perhaps the food starts out higher quality before the cooks do their thing.
Excellent host(s), attentive staff, cleanly kept despite the difficulty given their high volume demand both peak times. ...
Read moreHad the opportunity of visiting this restaurant with my daughter and grandbaby, my daughter decided to take me out for lunch. Everything was going fine, the waitress we had was doing an awesome job. Then we was rudely approached by the manager Cole he said his name is. Followed my daughter back to the table to approach us in front of everyone sitting in the section. To say that the crab legs was apart of the dinner menu and that we paid for lunch, if we will like to eat the crab legs we have to pay $6 each. Which I really believe had everything to do with us being black. But nevertheless $12 ain’t much I wouldn’t have mind paying the money. But there is a way to approach people and talk to people, stating that we are mad because we don’t have the money to pay if not the direction to take, I wouldn’t be eating at the establishment if I didn’t have the money to pay. We decided to not eat the crab legs and leave, which was told to the manager. He replied with a nonchalant attitude, that’s fine. We packed up and proceeded to leave the restaurant, I stopped by the cashier desk to ask the young lady for corporate number. The manager Cole jumped in the conversation saying we don’t have a corporate office. I then said that’s fine, provide me with an email address where I can reach someone over him. He then stated that he do not have to provide me with anything, causing the issue to escalate. He then walked from behind the counter stating he’s not scared of me and to do some. Now don’t get me wrong I am not innocent in the situation, once it escalated I played my part because I don’t go for disrespect, not when I paid money to eat at an establishment you get paid to manage. Maybe they should send him back to management 101 or some. Nevertheless he followed me out of the restaurant and still proceeded to argue with me. I will not be eating at this establishment again and I will encourage the public to do so as well. Outside of the manager being rude, I do agree that most of the food was out of date, I did have to say some about the watermelon that was dried out and old, when I said some it was replaced but the new batch didn’t look no better. I notice that about a couple of items. The reason I wasn’t eating much from the get. If anyone knows who owns this establishment or how I can reach someone within the management please reach out. Thanks! The one located in Douglasville is way better and gives way better...
Read moreWe visited here on a Monday evening in August 2013. I am so not impressed! I've eaten at plenty buffets and I just don't like the food here. They replenish quickly and the food seems fresh, just not tasty. When I tell you that 98% of what I tasted was BLEH!, please believe me. I am not exaggerating. I am pretty sure I ate at this place in Snellville a year or so ago and everyone in my party had the same experience. They closed after being open for maybe 6 months or so.
DISLIKE: From the General Tso's Chicken, to the barbecued ribs, to the fried shrimp, chicken on skewer, fish, crab rangoon and a few others I can't recall - not tasty at all. If it had a flavor, it was a weird ... almost chemically taste. Like fake food, if you can imagine that. The ribs were dry. Staff barely looked at us and didn't smile as they showed people to their seat, asked for drink orders, removed dirty dishes or passed by as you go back and forth to the buffet. Dessert cakes (not sure what they were) were just gross. Weird, gelled consistency. Maybe that's what it's supposed to taste like? Didn't like it.
TOLERABLE: Grilled chicken wings had nice flavor and were not overcooked or dry Some of the sushi. Salad
LIKED: Oriental green beans were a little crunchy, not overcooked and limp and had a good flavor. White rice and veggie fried rice was fine Decor is really nice Cleared dirty dishes from the table quickly Easy to get to and plenty parking Not expensive. Dinner was about $10
Maybe all the others on here like the taste of the food, different strokes for different folks. I went here because of the glowing reviews and was quickly reminded of my past experience with an establishment in Snellville with the same name, decor, food, etc. It's clear someone likes it but I would not recommend it to my friends.
Oh, and lastly, just fyi, soft and hot drinks cost extra. "Battles of Watter" are $1.75. Check out the signs on the table. :-) A cup of water...
