Pollo Campero Marietta — Restaurant in Marietta

This restaurant is a chaos. Since the moment I ordered my food I realized that the cashier was distracted and moody. I ordered a 16 piece meal that includes 4 sides. I received my order. The chicken was hard as a rock from the outside, we were not able to eat it. I went back to the counter and I told the same cashier the problem. She had the nerve to tell me can you show me your chicken. I told her the chicken is on my table. I was already upset then she walked to my table and asked me the same stupid question; what’s wrong with the chicken? I had to grab a piece of chicken and told her; “ We can’t eat this, it’s over cooked or has been sitting in he kitchen for a while”. She grabbed the chicken without saying a word and went back to the kitchen. We waited for 10 minutes to get fresh chicken. Then she asks, is this is better? I said yes, this is fresh. No apologies. After she took the old chicken I realized she didn’t bring all the chicken she took to the kitchen. It was missing 3 pieces. I told the waitress near by that we were missing chicken. She goes to the kitchen and few minutes later she brings the rest of the chicken, 2 legs and one wing. Really!!!! At first when I got my order I got rice instead of French fries. Cashier should pay more attention. Despite I ordered in Spanish which is her native language. I ordered two sides of yuca fries. They were cold. Bread was old. Coleslaw salad was unflavored really nasty. The waitress left in my table the rice I did not ordered which we didn’t touch cause it looks disgusting. The French fries were ok. Btw I forgot to mentioned that when I complained about the chicken being old the manager was standing there and did not say a word to me. He just told the cashier go to the kitchen. I will not return to this restaurant. I have know the owners ( The Gutierrez family) of these fast food chain in Guatemala, very professional and educated people which is now corporacion multi inversiones. I hope they realize how these franchise operators are giving a bad name to this successful company. Please don’t get me wrong this chicken is delicious when is done right but obviously this franchise operators are ruin it. I went inside so I could have enough time to look at everything on the menu, no one was in front or in back of me and I felt rushed . I understand that they just opened but the cashier seemed to not even know the menu so I couldn’t even ask about the food. When I would ask if the had an item I saw on the menu online I was told they didn’t have it (as I stare at the menu on the wall, they did) I said “boneless wings” the menu literally said boneless meat. They tell me they didn’t have boneless but instead something else that was like a chicken nugget. When I got it it was BONELESS WINGS. So I thought her correcting me was kind of rude. I asked for the signature compero sauce(listed on the menu) was told that she didn’t know what it was and they didn’t have any. No one could tell me what the sauce was. After I get my food I ask some one else if they had it and she grabs after being told they didn’t have any it?! The actual food it self was cold. The nuggets/boneless meat(whatever) flavor was ok but it was hard and cold. The sauce they supposedly didn’t have taste like some kind of bland salad dressing and didn’t pair well with the food. It seems like they just hired anyone for the sake of opening the place. They should have had more training in customer services and learning the food. First visit! The wait through the drive-thru was longer than it should have been. The establishment apparently is a fast food, chicken restaurant. I had a two piece with a side. I went with a thigh and leg, fried, with a side of corn salad. I added a side of mash potatoes and a chicken empanada. When I finally pull up to the window, I was informed that it would be 5 minutes more on the mash potatoes. I had already waited long enough so I changed to fries. I took the Campero sauce when offered.

The food was okay. The chicken skin was not as crispy as one would hope for fried chicken and it lacked any discernible flavor. The chicken was cooked properly but also suffered from a lack of seasoning. The fries were under seasoned, too. They cried out for salt. The corn salad reminded me of a greek salad. It was rather one note in flavor, with or without the crumbled cheese. The sweet tea blend had plenty of sugar but it tasted old. Also, the chicken empanada was okay; it didn't really excite me when I bit into it. However, the sauce was the one item I liked. It had a base similar to Zaxby sauce but with different seasonings.

Overall, it is a hit or miss restaurant. The drive-thru service needs to pick up the pace. The food was bland. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who...
