KAWA Japanese Cuisine stands as a culinary gem, seamlessly blending modern sophistication with timeless class. The atmosphere exudes a contemporary allure, creating a setting that is both chic and inviting. The staff, masters of hospitality, elevate the dining experience to unforgettable heights. From the moment you step through the doors, they ensure each visit is etched in your memory. The culinary journey at KAWA is nothing short of divine. The thicc yellowtail cheeks, both amusing and delectable, showcase the chef's playful artistry while delivering an explosion of flavors that linger on the palate. The sushi, a masterpiece in its own right, achieves a level of perfection that transports you to the heart of Japan. Each piece is a testament to precision and quality, leaving you savoring every bite. Beyond sushi, the menu unfolds a symphony of dishes that verge on the godlike. Each plate is a culinary revelation, showcasing the chef's mastery of flavors and textures. It's not merely a meal; it's an odyssey through the diverse and exquisite tastes of Japan. To dine at KAWA is to transcend the geographical confines – it's like being whisked away to the vibrant streets of Tokyo or Kyoto. Every element, from the decor to the meticulous presentation of dishes, contributes to an immersive experience that captures the essence of Japan. KAWA Japanese Cuisine is not just a restaurant; it's a culinary sanctuary where every detail is crafted to transport you, if only for a moment, to the gastronomic wonders of Japan.

Had a quick lunch of some ramen the other day. Quick service, very tasty food, and a good menu, all wrapped up in a nice and modern setting. Prices seemed more than reasonable. The ramen itself was a good size for lunch... I left full but not uncomfortable. The broth was very savory, and there were four slices of pork that were tasty without being overly fatty. I do wish that they had something besides sriracha to spice things up (like chili oil maybe?), and bottled green tea, but these are extremely minor gripes compared to how much I - and seemingly all the other patrons there - enjoyed lunch. Thank you!

This review is long overdue. I visited here 3 times before writing just to make sure it was as good as I thought. And yes, this place is by far, the best value for the quality of sushi you get in all of Delco. Having lived in Asia and been to Japan twice, my standard for sushi is to be honest, quite annoying because I can never find sushi that satisfies. But this place is just wonderful. I specifically am reviewing their sushi (nigiri) and sashimi. I can’t speak for their other food, but I’m sure it’s good too. Each time I go, I can’t wait to go back again. They also have great lunch specials.

100% Honest review:

My wife and I get sushi every Tuesday and since our go-to, Kuma, in Wynnewood changed hours and no longer offer lunch, I decided to try Kawa since its highly rated on google. Now - I have had everything from Wegman's supermarket sushi, to top James Bearde award winning Royal Izakaya and in between. This, unfortunately, is the worst sushi place I have ever been to in my 15 years of eating sushi.

I got the sushi lunch 3 roll special. Philly roll (loose roll with salty lox type salmon, cream cheese, and past prime cucumber), Alaska roll (loose/sloppy and flavorless yet soapy!), and shrimp tempura (not too bad). I could only eat the shrimp tempura as the others were inedible with my Alaska roll tasting like soap!! As im typing this, my stomach hurts...Oh, I also got a "salad" consisting of a few peices of lettuce and 1 half slice of tomato. Please, its better they dont serve that sorry salad to customers.

I really, truly, hate to be so harsh on them as I only review when a place is amazing or terrible, and this place clearly falls in the latter.

My wife was ok with 2 of 3 of her rolls, hence the 2 stars, though she noted that it was subpar and we try somewhere else. Needless to say, I will never...

Best sushi in the area! After moving to the area from the city back in 2014, one of the hardest things for us was the lack of good local restaurants, particularly sushi. After trying 4 or 5 local places during out first couple years, we gave up on our hopes of finding good local sushi. When a friend recommended this place, we were skeptical and I told him "good sushi places simply don't exist in Delco." Well, I lost my bet with him.

This is now our go-to sushi place. Their fish and seafood are incredibly fresh and of great quality. The sushi rolls are much larger compared to other local places and we really enjoy their special rolls. Some of our favorite raw rolls include Pikachu Roll, Summer Roll, and Kawa Roll. We also really enjoy their miso soup and sashimi (raw fish w/o rice). While we have tried several of their hibachi bento boxes for our daughter, we have not been impressed with any of them.

We really enjoyed the dine-in experience prior to the pandemic and also impressed with their take-out. While our favorite sushi places are still in the city and in South Jersey, this is the best sushi in the area and we recommend any sushi lovers to try...
