Cascata Caffe — Restaurant in Marple Township

May be the worst restaurant experience I've had in awhile. Reservations were at 730. Party of 14. We sat around 7:50. Okay fine, no biggy. We get to table and have to ask for water. We have to ask for bread. We have to ask for our bottles of wine to be open (BYOB). Okay fine whatever. No biggy. Our server comes over (now about 8:25) and immediately takes our dinner selections and doesn't offer appetizers.

Everyone places their order and we add a couple of apps anyway. No lie, 2 hours go by .. not even joking .. 2 whole hours on the dot and we don't have our food. During this time someone from our party has to leave and take his kid home because his daughter had already eaten her chicken fingers while all the adults were waiting for their food. Anyway, he is now on his way back from dropping his daughter off an dinner was finally served. I told them by the time he gets here you may as well just box his up at this point.

Okay so now to review the food. Bland - no flavors - I got the chicken Alfredo. The chicken HAD to be Perdue chicken selects. No way that was fresh chicken, I would swear by it. Person next to me got the shrimp scampi - he went and threw it up in the parking lot it was that bad. Another bad dish (what I was told) was the chicken florentine. Some dishes that were good were the chicken parm, salmon, and tilapia.

Anyway, all in all we literally left this place at 11pm ... seriously a joke and they didn't even offer us anything. Maybe a gift card to come back, maybe comp a dish or something. Nope, nothing. Terrible restaurant, staff that doesn't care about you, and cooks that curse loud enough to hear when you finally do indeed...

Had a 6:30 reservation with the wife, Was greeted very nicely, But that was the end of the good part, Waited 15 minutes to place our order, then another 15 minutes for my wife to have her soda dropped off, Our soup and salad took a half hour then we waited even longer for our app. to witch I had to ask the waitress for. A hour and a half later still no meal and a table that came in a hour after us had their meal. I then got up and went to ask what was going on. 2 of the young ladies went into the kitchen only for me to hear somebody screaming at them. Then the chef/owner came out with a high tone of voice telling me that the food take time and if I do not like it I should go to McDonalds and wait there. Then he asked me if I cooked at home and told me it takes a couple hours to cook a steak. I grabbed my wife and told her we were gone. Then they charged me for the soup/salad and her soda. I paid but the Owner better learn how to treat his customer's and his help. I told him to lower it and I was not screaming but came back to just ask what is going on. We had a group in to dine on February 24th 2024. A Saturday. The man I spoke with on the phone to make the arrangements, Jay, was very helpful. We had 15 people including a few kids and took 2 entrees home and ordered like 5 appetizers. Service was phenomenal. John, one of our waiters, was very welcoming and helpful and thorough at providing exceptional service, making jokes and ensuring he answered any questions we had. The woman paired with him was excellent as well and I don't want to misspell her name. No one had anything but praise for their entrees. Full bellies and happy faces all around. We were very happy overall. We brought our own wine, plenty of delicious bread and butter was provided along with ice water. Even the 2 items ordered off the children's menu were large portions. I ate my entree 3 times altogether, the portion was so generous. Most things come with soup or salad too. I enjoyed the crab/shrimp bisque (only one person thought it was a touch salty) and the shrimp and salmon in vodka sauce. Very delicious! We've been here before and will definitely be...
