Chicken Pocha — Restaurant in Maryland

Wow. What a great addition to the MoCo dining scene. Geoff, a good friend in Va told us we just had to go there when my boyfriend and I are back in VA. Geoff told us this place was better than Bonchon and I love Bonchon. I researched and discovered there was one 20 minutes from us. My friend, Kim and I went. They just opened Saturday. The place is immaculate. They don’t have their beer and wine license yet but still have happy hour on their tikkudak. We got the tenders in garlic soy and the curry. We thought the curry had a more memorable flavor. It was delightful. As we waited, the owner (I’m guessing) circulated the restaurant and gave us recommendations from the menu. He also sent out complimentary spicy garlic shrimp which were incredible. The flavor was to die for. Sadly- there was no spicy kimchi but they had a nice white radish side to cut some of the heat. We had ordered snow onions for our main. They were huge. Kim got the snow and I got the snow with hot on the side. We definitely have lunch for tomorrow. The bathrooms were clean. Our waitress was great. There were nice flat screens to watch as well. We will be back! I hope they do really well in Germantown. A huge perk being down from my other favorite spot the Dutch...

Food is good so I’ll give 2 stars.

First issue I had was a few months back. We ordered ahead 3 different wings and was told it would take 30 min. I left immediately because it would take about 25 min to get there. As soon as I arrived, my order was almost ready. The lady gave me my order and I left for home. When I got home I realized there were 3 boxes of same wings. So when we called she said all they can do is remake. So that’s almost 2 hours of driving to get the correct orders. Normally, restaurants would apologize and add additional item or some would even take care of the whole order. Very disappointing.

Second issue is a few days ago. I ordered ahead of time and was told it would take about 20min. So I arrived a little after 20 min and was told that the order wasn’t put in. I said this is second time this place had issue with my order and all I got was “I’m so sorry.” This place seems like they don’t learn from their mistakes or own their mistakes.

If you wanna order from here, be sure to double check you get your order correctly before you leave, and double check that your order went through. I’ll come back here because the food is good but I wonder what new mistake they’ll...

We were just dining here again this evening and have to post ANOTHER WONDERFUL review for the best place in Germantown for Korean wings & drums. The service was fantastic....we were greeted immediately and our drink order was on the table within minutes. Everyone was VERY NICE and helpful. Our two choices (Ganghaham sauce & Garlic Soy) and the freshness of the chicken were another reason we will return again and again. The pricing is very reasonable and they are very appreciative of our business. Thank you again for making our dinner phenomenal!

Previous comments: My wife, son and daughter dined in August. We saw the rave reviews and figured it would be a good choice (since we also liked Bonchon wings). WE WERE AMAZED! The food was fantastic, freshly made and served by very friendly staff. We would highly recommend Chicken Pocha.
