Let me start out by saying I would strongly not recommend shopping here. That being said, if you would like to understand why I feel this way, please allow me to explain my experience. I have been saving up points for a little while so I could use them for 20 dollars in coupons. When in the store at Germantown, I was on the fence between 2 used games. When trying to decide the game to purchase, the sales representative informed me that I could try out any used game and bring it back within 30 days for a full refund. Once I have learned about the return system, I decided to buy a 40 dollar used game with 20 dollars of coupons I saved with my points, a trade in game, and a remainder of 14 dollars from cash. When returning to home and trying out the game, I realized the game is awful. On the following day, I returned back to GameStop for an exchange for a different game. I found the game I would like to take home and it was 38 dollars, a fair trade for the 40 dollar game I bought the previous day. When getting checked out, the sales representative stated that I now owe 20 dollars for the difference. Confused with this transaction, I asked why. The store clerk then explained to me that I only paid 20 dollars of my own cash and that the coupons where no longer valid, the clerk also had an attitude at this point. I told the clerk to call the manager after I was informed I owe money. After the clerk got off the phone with the manager, she than told me they can only do a fair trade and I wasn’t going to get the 2 dollars back. After all said and done, this whole experience was just stupid and unnecessary. It finally makes sense why GameStop is going out of business slowly. It’s business is all about milking as much as they can from consumers. I would strongly recommend shopping at your local family owned gaming store, not GameStop. ...
Read moreI came in to trade my Xbox controller because two of the buttons stopped working, the employee I spoke with on the phone told me that they wouldn't be able to fix it but could put my old remote towards my new remote so I traded it in for one of the used ones they had.
the next day the replacement remote I got worked even worse than my first remote. none of the buttons or joysticks worked, when I came back I had the same employee help me and was told since I didn't have my receipt they could either give me store credit or $5 or $6 dollars on a gift card and that I had 7 days to find the receipt to be able to get my money back or I would just have to do another trade-in. the manager wasn't in that day so we weren't able to speak with him and I understand that there is only so much employees can do in that situation. Later on that same day, I was looking online for a replacement remote that looked similar to my old remote and found that GameStop had put my original remote up for sale and said it worked in perfect condition though I was told they don't fit controllers.
The store has weird policies and shady actions, I wish I had just kept my remote and my money and just gone...
Read moreTypically I would give this store a great rating, as I've shopped at this location many times & spend a ton of money here. However, over the weekend, I had purchased one of their "Funko Mystery Boxes" for $20. I had opened the first box & pulled two Pops! & two mini vinyl figures. I thought, great, let me buy a few more & see what I pull. I bought five more "Funko Mystery Boxes", & to my dismay pulled the EXACT same products. These boxes are supposed to be random, this is anything but random. I feel that this is a ploy to unload overstock. Not worth it. Let me save everyone the suspense of these "mystery boxes".....ready, here goes, you will pull an "Enchantress Pop!" & a "Vegeti Pop!", maybe a "Yellow Power Ranger Pop!" & you will pull 2 Five Nights at Freddy's vinyl figures, those being "Animatronic Foxy" & "Crying Child". I am now the proud owner of 6 Enchantress Pops!, 4 Vegeti Pops!, 2 Yellow Power Ranger Pops!, 6 Crying Child Figures, & 6 Animatronic Foxy's. The manager refused to do anything about it. It's a scam to unload overstocked items. If you don't believe me, buy a "mystery box" & see for yourself. It's not...
