I bought a gift card from exceptional gentleman at the inner register, then I walk over to pick up my friend’s mobile order at other counter. I have never been a customer at Starbucks before. The young lady at order counter doesn’t so much as speak to me or greet me. I wait outside at the ‘mobile pick up order’ window because maybe that was the expectation for service, and the young lady just looks at me and carries on. I walk back in and ask her if an order for K** is ready. Her response: “😒everything there has a label.”
I responded that I didn’t know that I was supposed to handle the orders of other people.
The order, first name K** was in the column on the counter marked for orders with the names starting with letter “M”. Rude, tactless, and careless. Hopefully not also illiterate. Adult illiteracy is serious and she should be provided grace and dignity in getting literacy support if that is the issue affecting knowing that K names do not go in the M column.

She waited for 35 minutes and brought it at 9. I opened the sealed bag and found creamer and an excessive amount of sugar options, but no cups, lids or stir sticks. I immediately messaged the Dasher. She went back to this store to get cups and they told her “the customer has to order cups” - can you imagine?! I replied to the Dasher through the app that 12 cups come with each box per the website. I tried to call the store and no one answered the phone. Luckily, the Dasher persisted and asked again and they finally gave her cups. She brought them back to me at 9:30 (no stir sticks but at least my guests could have coffee at their training!!) - so this Dasher wasted more than an hour for a single order due to the poor customer service at this store. I did a mobile order to end up waiting 30 minutes after my pickup time. People who came in and ordered after me picked up their orders before me.
They cannot handle volume at all.
I am a so-so fan of Starbucks. I feel there are other quality shops in DC and MD. This location does not help me have a better outlook for Starbucks. I use to go to Peet's at this location, and I wish they didn't close it for Starbucks.
The customer service at this location leaves much to be desired. I like that they incorporated a pick-up window here, but on numerous occasions when I walk up, I am not acknowledged until minutes after I am standing there. Is there a bell to ring? I know I'm seen. Finally when I am acknowledged, the baristas are not friendly, or welcoming.
The food is standard as other locations as well as the drinks. I think all of the employees here need to take some customer service...
