Despite the multitude of restaurants I've been to over the years, I've never left a review on Google before. Today, however, I noticed that this restaurant has under four stars, and after visiting here on and off in a pinch for three or more years, I had to break my silence because that is criminally underrated.
This place is a family run restaurant with a menu you'd come to expect from a pizza joint; Fried greasy appetizers we love when we're drunk, speciality pizzas, subs, etc. Moreover, they have homemade Indian cuisine in a Towson market loaded with specialty restaurants and cultural offerings.
If you're reading this review, you've already seen all you need to know, because I've mentioned their standouts. A lot of us have made homemade pizza as a novelty for guests or family/friends, and we've all had pizza from the big chains, and sub shops. I've had several of their pizzas, but even just the simplicity of cheese or cheese and tomato from Lombardis is noticeably different. I'm not sure what they do differently, but you can assuredly taste a bite of pizza that is on a different level than the run of the mill hole in the wall. Again, I'm not sure what it is, but their pizza tastes so much better than regular-degular pizzas.
However, despite that, the real glowing reactor of this spot is their family-made Indian food. My favorite cultures to eat are Thai and Indian, when I'm not stuffing my face with seafood as a faithful Marylander. This restaurant hits the mark with their Indian cuisine. The presentation isn't extraordinary, but your expectations shouldn't ever be for takeout. The flavor, however, is an explosion. I've had six different dishes from the Indian menu, and not a single one of them disappointed me. The spice level is always on point, and never overpowering; the variety is welcome, and the servings are more than filling. Very satisfying chicken biryani, savory delicious butter chicken, and zesty masala.
Normally, five star reviews are reserved for the very top tier restaurants, and to be frank, I'd give this place a 4 or 4.5, but the absolute and utter convenience of having a quality option bordering two Baltimore counties, and Baltimore City, with unwavering quality over the years, drives this place to a five star for me. Even despite the sometimes disjointed Cashier experience, the food, and complete convenience cannot...
Read moreAm staying at a local hotel and they offered Lombardi's as one of the places that delivers food to the hotel. Called to place an order. Guessing that the person answering must be new as he couldn't answer my questions about certain menu items, but he didn't pass me to someone that could answer for quite a while so that was frustrating. He was also hard to understand, adding to the frustration. They should have someone familiar with the menu and easy to understand on the phone. I had to wait over an hour for my food. I think it was 70 minutes. When ordering, I stated my room number to him and asked for my food to be brought directly to my room. I checked with the front desk that this would be allowed and she said yes. When the delivery person came, he called saying he was in the lobby. I directed him to come up to my room and repeated my room number. Figured he would be up shortly. Waited quite a while. Called the front desk and they said there was no delivery person there. I called the delivery person back and asked where he was. He said in his car. I asked why then he said he was in the lobby. Weird. Anyway, eventually got my food. I called the restaurant to let them know what happened. I briefly spoke to the woman who answered before she put me on hold without an explanation. When she got back on the phone she said she was trying to reach the delivery person. I tried to explain I already got a hold of him, but she cut me off and put me on hold again in another attempt to reach him. When she finally got back on the phone I explained I already spoke to him. Tried to tell her the series of mishaps that occurred so management could address it internally so another customer doesn't run into the same situation. She never heard me because she KEPT CUTTING ME OFF. I asked repeatedly for her to not do that so she could hear me out. She just kept doing that. She never listened to me. My meal with the tip, I paid $20. It was not worth it. Also, i specified I need utensils. I got 2 forks, no knife. I had to rip apart my food with the 2 forks to try and get bite sized pieces. Not a good experience for my...
Read moreI used to love this place until I had to deal with the staff, including the disrespectful manager. After waiting 45+ minutes to receive the $50 worth of food I ordered, I waited over half an hour to realize the missing item from my order was forgotten about again. When the item did not arrive, I called back and the lady who answered the phone told me that there were no drivers available but I could speak to the manager. I said that I would like to talk to the manager to which she replied, "Go head." The manager then disregarded how upset I was and failed to offer an apology, even telling us that we were waisting time by being on the phone with him and that the drink could have been there already in the time we spent on the phone. Normally speaking to a manager resolves your issues, but at Lombardi's, speaking to the manager only made the situation worse, infuriated us, and made us realize how incompetent and disrespectful people can be. But, if you enjoy being disrespected and waiting an extra 45 minutes to receive a soda that was supposed to be in your order in the first place, this is the...
