Nori Japan — Restaurant in Maryland

This place was absolutely terrible. Myself and other customers left due to the service. During my recent visit to Nori Japan, I noticed the portion sizes were smaller than expected. When I politely inquired about the possibility of a bit more, I felt the response lacked courtesy and suggested paying for additional servings. It would be beneficial if there could be more flexibility in accommodating customer requests. They were arguing back-and-forth with a woman in front of me. They were also then began to start Going back-and-forth with me. It was such a bad experience, I will never ever recommend this place. Additionally, improving overall politeness in customer interactions could enhance the dining experience for everyone!! It was really heart breaking, I was super Hungry, and this was the only place that seem to spike an interest but after the experience, I will never be returning again. If you choose to go to Nori, keep in mind that this is a faster paced hibachi. If you are comparing it to major hibachi where you sit at the table while they cook, it's not going to be quite on par. That being said this place isn't nearly as expensive as a sit down hibachi. So in my opinion the price vs quality is more than on point. The food is fairly cheap, it's fairly quick, and the service is friendly. There is almost always a line and despite what another review said about mistreating people of color, I've never seen this when people of color we're ordering (which is a lot considering this place is in the Hagerstown mall).

The steak teriyaki can be great some days, and weak other days. It's a hit or miss unfortunately. The chicken teriyaki however is extremely good all the time.

The woman that works this food counter at Nori in Valley mall is extremely rude! My husband ordered a plate with shrimp, she took the order, put chicken on his plate, then said he couldn't get shrimp with the order. She couldn't explain why and was very adement we couldn't even add it on at an extra cost. I ordered mine and got shrimp so I was confused why the mix up.
