I have to start this off by saying that the food is just fantastic! Hands down, the best crab boil we've found since moving to the area. Everything is fresh, hot, full of flavor, and you're going to wanting more! Sadly, the service is seriously lacking. This was our 2nd visit, and we were hoping that the previous experience was a fluke. We sat at the bar for our first visit, and they played their own music above what the restaurant is playing...it was LOUD, vulgar, and clashed with what's playing in the restaurant. We thought maybe it was a one-time thing, but it was the same occurrence on our 2nd visit. From someone who spent 12+ years in the restaurant industry as a server/server trainer/bartender, its clear that the staff are not experienced nor properly trained on steps of service, speed, attention to tables (our server disappeared for long stretches), multitasking, being friendly, etc. The bartenders over-pour standard cocktails, and the tonic water for my husband's drink was flat. He asked for a lime twice, then more tonic (because it was so strong), but there was no apology or acknowledgement from the bartender. In addition, the overall attitude from the staff (bartenders and servers) seems to be generally "put-out" when you ask for another drink, your check, etc. If it wasn't for the amazing food, the recommendation would be to stear clear of this place just based on the service. Again, LOVE the food!!! The service is far better at Crafty Crab down the street, but yeah...I want to love this...
Read moreI love this place. Food is always excellent. But management is not so nice. They'd get 1 star for their professionalism or attentiveness to their customers. I eat here almost weekly but the owners are mean...well this one young guy is. Every time I come he's always on his laptop with an attitude. He doesn't response to his employees too well when being questioned. I had did a review for a discount and it posted. I took my time with the review at the table because it waiter was just excellent. I showed her the review that posted and the guy still would not accept it. He said he didn't see it on their site. I had the proof in my hand. Date and all shown. He would not budge. Despite this, I spend at the least $75 each time we go. I just stopped asking. They don't care for loyal customers. He never speaks even when i smile at him so i stopped speaking. So I tip my servers good and leave reviews on the servers. Like I said, ownership or management is not too friendly here. 😒 but the staff is great. Great atmosphere. But I can't help to keep referencing management. Cuz it makes or breaks your business. No one has ever er came around to ask how was the food or service. It's like they could care less. But we need to know that were valued as customers because we do pay yall bills there. Just saying...
Read moreThis is my 1st time dining in at this location, we did take out 2xs before in the past 3 wks. The seafood is a better quality than some of the other area crab boil places. Honestly, at this point the area is over saturated with crab boil spots. The sauce is a little thin for my liking and butter/oil based than creamy. Service was good and it was fairly crowded for a Sunday. I love that they have specials and you get a great value for the price point. Only had one gripe today...don't ever again ask me to pay a total THEN ask me if I want my receipt afterwards. I paid up front in good faith then realized that my husband's drink was overcharged. We came at happy hour and the cocktails were supposed to be $4 off and we paid full price for his Mai Tai. I didn't check my receipt until I got home so that pissed me off. When I tip $30 I don't expect no mistakes and if there are some (our server was new so he gets some grace) I need to see them before I settle my bill. Therefore, management, have your servers present the bill before they bring a total; please and thank you. With that said, we enjoyed patronizing THIS location and will be back. Yall can thank my daughter for convincing us, because we've been to the Bowie location and it's lackluster...
