Awful Experience at the 99 ā A Familyās Disappointment Would give a zero āļø
I feel compelled to share our disheartening experience at the 99, a place we had hoped would provide a fun night of dinner and baseball. Instead, it turned into a frustrating saga that left us feeling neglected and unvalued as customers.
We walked in as a family of three on a Thursday, ready to enjoy dinner and catch the Red Sox game. Sounds like a winning combination, right? But our hopes were dashed the moment we encountered the hostess, Susan. We requested to be seated on the bar side, where the TVs are, and were met with a firm refusal. Why? Because it was trivia night, and apparently, that takes precedence over customers who simply want to enjoy a game.
We even went the extra mile, offering to participate in trivia to secure a tableāafter all, the place was far from packed at the time. Yet our eagerness was met with indifference. Susanās tone matched her attitude; it was dismissive, lacking any semblance of hospitality.
When we asked to speak to a manager, hoping for some resolution or at least an empathetic ear, we were met with yet another wave of disappointment. The manager seemed unconcerned that we were leaving without being seated because of the arbitrary rules enforced by the staff. It was clear that our presenceāand our moneyāmeant little to them.
In a nutshell, our visit to the 99 was a monumental letdown. Instead of a lively dinner filled with good food and spirits, we left feeling frustrated and disrespected. It's baffling that a restaurant would prioritize trivia over its patrons, especially when the tables were wide open. As a family who enjoys dining together and supporting local establishments, we certainly wonāt be returning anytime soon.
To the management of the 99: itās time to rethink your policies and train your staff on the value of customer service. A warm welcome and flexible accommodations can go a long way in keeping customers satisfiedāand...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI got an on the go order. Ordering online was super easy, and when we got the food they had made everything perfect to the order. Inexpensive. I was really really happy with 2 things: while placing order online I saw the option to donate to the Pine Street Inn and that The 99 does this annually. I appreciate any kind of philanthropy but this is a cause very very near and dear to my heart. I was so so happy to see that. Also, when we pulled into the restaurant to pick up the food, we only waited but a few minutes and a really really sweet hostess came out and apologized profusely for the wait, got our food, read the order back to us completely and was so sweet, like above and beyond what I expected for the 99. I only write reviews if I'm extremely unsatisfied or very impressed with the service. It might be a small thing but I was really impressed with how fast and correct the order was, and how sweet that hostess was. She was young with dark curly hair and i hate that I didn't get her name. She deserves all the raises. Especially now with the strict guidelines. Shes working hard and everyone taking a hit financially, and the ones that suffer the most are always the public facing customer service and food industry. She was working hard in tough conditions for low pay with a smile on her face. If only everyone could...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a waitress tonight that was also serving as the hostess. If Iām recalling correctly her name was McKenna. She first sat us at a dirty table. Then got both of two orders wrong. My boyfriend order steak tips and got steak and I order wings and skins. Wings and skins on the menu is a appetizer with potato skins and Buffalo wings. I was given plain wings (no sauce) with blue cheese on the side. No sour cream for my potato skins and what am I doing with blue cheese without the Buffalo sauce. I was told when I asked about why they came without Buffalo sauce that I needed to specify what kind of wings I wanted because the menu was incorrect. I was then offered only the sauce on the side to fix it. I was unhappy to feel as though it was my fault that I didnāt ask when the menu reads as it does and I was never asked to pick a sauce. Additionally I noticed that we werenāt the only table having issues as another table had to ask for tartar sauce another item as sheād left them off there dishes. I am overall extremely dissatisfied as I love the 99 and this was the absolute worst time Iāve had at any 99 Iāve been to. My friends and myself frequent the restaurant and always enjoy ourselves but this outing to celebrate the soon birth of my niece was ruined by a waitress that just seems to not be...
