I recently had a take out order experience at A-1 Restaurant through DoorDash, and unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. I had ordered a variety of chicken items and a shrimp biryani. However, when I received the order and was about to open the bag at home, I noticed a message stating that they didn't have shrimp, so they substituted it with chicken biryani. The issue here is that the restaurant made this decision without consulting me, and one of my family members can only eat vegetarian or fish items, so the chicken biryani was not suitable.
I called the restaurant to discuss the issue, and the response I received was disheartening. The lady on the phone assured a refund but seemed uninterested in addressing the root cause of the mistake. My husband, wanting to give the restaurant a chance, returned the chicken biryani and spoke to the manager. Surprisingly, the manager's response was similar - a partial refund and a lack of understanding regarding the decision-making process.
To make matters worse, we discovered that the restaurant had not attempted to contact us about the substitution. When we questioned this, the manager showed us the pickup information, and the displayed phone number did not belong to us but was DoorDash's. Attached is a photo of the note on the bag and the phone number printed on the pickup information.
This lack of communication is unacceptable, especially when they could have contacted DoorDash to reach us.
We contacted DoorDash, and they clarified that restaurants have means to communicate with customers through the platform. Despite privacy concerns, the restaurant can contact DoorDash, who would then direct the communication to the customer. In the worst-case scenario, they could have canceled the entire order.
The overall attitude of the staff and management was disappointing. A simple effort to communicate and understand the customer's perspective could have turned this negative experience around. It's crucial for businesses, especially in the service industry, to prioritize customer communication and satisfaction.
Unfortunately, my experience with A-1 Restaurant fell short of expectations, and I hope they take this feedback to heart for future...

Tucked discreetly off the highway, A1 Indian is a delightful BYOB restaurant that promises an authentic culinary experience with a kick. My recent visit to this cozy establishment left a lasting impression, showcasing bold flavors and a warm ambiance.
Firstly, the location might be a bit tricky to find, nestled away from the main road. However, once inside, the welcoming atmosphere and attentive staff set the stage for a memorable dining experience. The restaurant's BYOB policy is a definite plus, allowing guests to bring their favorite beverages to complement the spicy dishes.
Now, onto the food! As a spice enthusiast, I opted for the level 5 spice (out of 6) on the menu. And let me tell you, it was just right - flavorful, but not overwhelmingly hot. The menu features a range of classic Indian dishes, from butter chicken to lamb vindaloo, each thoughtfully prepared with authentic spices and fresh ingredients. The standout for me was the chicken tikka masala, with tender chunks of chicken in a rich, creamy tomato-based sauce that had just the right amount of heat.
For those brave enough, a word of caution: heed the warning not to go beyond level 6 on the spice scale unless you have a serious tolerance for heat! A1 Indian prides itself on offering genuine Indian heat levels, and they certainly deliver.
The service was prompt and courteous throughout the evening, with the staff offering helpful recommendations and ensuring our glasses were never empty. The portions were generous, leaving us happily satisfied by the end of our meal.
In summary, A1 Indian is a hidden gem for Indian cuisine enthusiasts seeking an authentic, spicy adventure. Remember to bring along your favorite drinks, stick to the recommended spice levels, and get ready for a flavorful journey through the rich tastes of India. I'll certainly be returning to explore more of their...
Read moreIt touts itself as a bar and restaurant…restaurant maybe, bar definitely not. Came after a hot round of golf and our group was hoping for cold beers but they don’t serve any alcohol 🤷♀️. They should’ve call themselves a bar until they have a proper liquor license. First disappointment. Ordered 3 different vegetarian options hoping that maybe the food would win us over based on the ratings, sadly not. The food was typical of other North Indian restaurants in the area but very bland so most Americans might find it appealing but those very familiar with Indian food may find it disappointing. We ordered a medium and there was not much spice or flavor. Not a 4.8 rating for sure.
The atmosphere left a lot to be desired as well. Appeared to be an outdated motel that needed major renovation. The parking lot and general landscaping gave the appearance of being overgrown, weeds everywhere, abandoned and not maintained. There was water leaking from the ceiling in the entryway forming a puddle that had not been attended to.
Just overall a poor experience. Won’t be...
