Hawai‘i Gelato — Restaurant in Maui

This gelato is definitely the worst gelato. I’d give -5 stars if there’s that click. I seriously have no idea why the reviews are high but every flavors of theirs are awful and huge disappointment. We went there bc the reviews but reviews are definitely wrong. First, they didn’t upfront about how many flavors we can try, they stopped us to try when we only had four flavors but literally just two for me and my boyfriend each bc we wanted different flavors. (So only one person for two flavors to try) But four of them are extreme average and MEH, my meh is like not even good as any ice cream we can get in Costco, Whole Foods, or Guys whatsoever you can name any grocery stores. we got one that is like cookies and cream that at least wouldn’t go wrong in ice cream store, and I chose dark chocolate which I also think this wouldn’t go wrong mostly …. But those final choices we made all 🥲🥲🥲 sadddd !!!! The dark chocolate tasted like cheap powder made. If you don’t believe me, go try their dark chocolate (since you only can try two flavors try this and y’all know what I’m saying is not wrong😂 ) it’s so awful like I feel sorry the person who made this , that person definitely never tastes good ice cream/Gelato before. And the cookies one was lower than average like only the Oreo is good, I mean it’s Oreo why would go wrong😅 the ice cream with Oreo tastes just sugar and cream, but the ice cream itself not even blend well with Oreo, I’d suggest get McDonald’s Oreo McFlurry than theirs. It’s huge disappointment for tourists tbh, I hope you guys can improve the quality. Send whoever made ice cream to other great gelato to try others gelato and improve yours.

Finally, for tourist who are looking for great gelato, We had one at “Paia Gelato”! it’s really crazy good. We love every flavors they made and dark chocolate is yum! Whoever make their gelato definitely know what they are doing. Hope you all can have great trip and great gelato...

You literally cannot go wrong with gelato! I especially enjoyed the Lahaina area and while out and about wondering the street we came across Hawaii Gelato. We stopped in simply because of the aroma we could smell from outside the shop! Hawaii Gelato offered and excellent assortment of flavors. Just looking inside the glass covered freezer will have your taste buds satisfied. They also offer seasonal flavors, so I can imagine around the holidays, you can find an even greater assortment. Nothing special about the ice cream. Same high price for gelato same gelato you'll get anywhere else. Giving a very poor review as I went in really wanting some but when I asked for a two samples the lady gave me the little spoon but with such a tiny sample you couldn't even taste it and looked at me like I was such a bother and should just but something already. I'll just save money and calories for a fancy retaurant desert later. Actually ended up buying great ice cream just down the street at BanyanTreats. The servers at BunyanTreats were so nice and offered great samples. Much better...
