Disagree with many of the reviews of this place. I went cause a friend recommended this place saying how good the burgers were. The burgers are pretty good but nowhere near as good as five guys or in and out. The poor review i am giving is based on the overall experience.

  1. deceptive pricing. There are no prices online. When you go to the front of the restaurant the menu also has the prices blacked out. Once I sat down and got a menu, I could see the prices.

  2. the waitress offered to split the burger for me and my wife. She did not tell us there is a $1 split fee. Who tf charges anything to cut a burger in half. I have been in lahaina for 5 days, we have split every meal and not once was there a fee

  3. deceptive pricing again. I will not that the split fee is on the back of the menu so if you dont read the entire menu you will never see it but even more deceptive is the bill. The bill tries to hide the fee so that you won't question it.

Rather than itemizing the order as: Don ho burger 12.49 Split fee 1.00

It says don ho burger split 13.49

This is more than shady and we would have over looked it if we did not check the pricing

  1. the waitress attitude when we brought up the fee. She was defensive saying it's only a dollar I'll cover it. Making it sound like its no big deal and your cheap cause it's only a dollar.

It's rare that I never leave a tip but this is one of those times I didnt. I have been eating downstairs at Down the Hatch and the quality of food, level of service and overall experience far exceeds this place. Do yourself a favor and dont listen to the other reviews. go to Down the Hatch downstairs and get a burger there or the fresh fish. This place is not even...

Decided to check this place out while on vacay in Maui. Located on the top floor of the wharf shops. We though it was going to be a long wait but we got seated pretty quick. It's a cute dineresque atmosphere with old assorted posters on the wall. Saw a few with Elvis, James Dean, etc...they had quite a bit of tables and they also had dining stools around the bar and counters. I really liked the atmosphere and the servers were great. One thing I noticed here is that all the workers work together to clear out/pick up tables so they can sit people faster. Burn and turn! That was great to see. Prices aren't too bad either. We shared the shared rib plate and also ordered the Frings, which consisted of fries and onion rings or sub fries for sweet potato fries. Anyhow, the onion rings were great, the onion flavor was not as strong as I am used to, them seemed more sweet but were very good. The fries were the delicious...they do have a spice on them with a bit of a kick but that is, I believe what made them sooo good. Now as far as the ribs, those were fall off the bone tender and very delicious. The shared rib plate came with 5 ribs., and with the extra firing basket we ordered, two of us got full. Did I mention. The milkshakes and malts? They have a build your own milkshake and malt menu, or suggested ones, those were so rich and yummy also. I definitely would give this place a visit if you're in the area. We would also come again. If you read this review, please hit the like...

Our time at this burger restaurant had to be the worst time we have had in Hawaii. The hamburger tasted like it had been left out all day. For the lack of good meat they load it up with 3 layers of lettuce and ton of pickles. The bun were maybe older not as fresh as advertised. That being said service was below one star. Acted like we bothered them with us being there even if you waved them down they seem annoyed. I ask for Ian whom was the manager. I explained i am a business owner as well and my employees dont act like that all 52 of them . He really didnt seem to concerned. So before we went back to our room at the Westin we stopped by a little ice cream shop and CBD shop on same side of street. The service there was great and fun. The guys there said they werent very busy today so for our 10.25 ice cream we left a tip for 200.00 . Maybe your staff should take a little lesson from them they are not as busy but they still care and respect people for 10.25. Ice cream you never know who going to walk in to your place . Our average tip for a 200.00 meal at home is 250.00 ... in fact yesterday we gave 100.00 for a 38.00 breakfast to a lady would had to move and was a little short on her deposit and almost cried. ... We will tell all our friends to not go to ur place i have over 1400 numbers in my phone so i will send this out to all . Thanks...

First off if you haven't had your penicillin shots do not eat at Cool cat Cafe. The food is not worth the money, any money, I'm sorry even if it was free I might not, well maybe I might but it's so dirty!!! The Onion rings and Fry's or Delicious that's about it. The burger to bun ratio and the cheap a$$ lettuce is definitely a no-go. Look at the picture that I took of inside the kitchen where they have a rubbish can sitting in there. The floors are disgusting, some of the servers do some disgusting things. One of the servers that was making the shakes and the soda floats was sticking his nose in all the cups and smelling the soda to see which one was what flavor before he put the ice cream in it and being a donkey he always put the ice cream in after the straw and would pick up the straw from the straw tip and then put it back in instead of putting in the ice cream person then the straws they doesn't have to keep touching the straw. a description of that guy is chubby with a beard and mustache and he looked like he has bad hygiene. The places dated needs to be cleaned thoroughly and have some painting and updating done. The hostess person had no personality and coughing while walking around the kitchen. If you want a good burger go to the Ulupalakua general store, Paia fish market, and the food truck Da Nani pirates.

I highly encourage you to eat at a different establishment. I ordered a burger, cooked medium, with bacon/tomato/lettuce/onion, I also asked for the thousand island dressing on the side as I wasn't sure if I would like it. Well, take a look at the picture I posted below to see the aftermath. The burger was severely overcooked, the bun toasted and hard as a rock, the bacon was so fatty and uncooked I had to pull it all off. The thousand island dressing? Yeah that never came. The waitress also took our ketchup before the meal came and said she would "get us a fresh one" as she gave ours to another table-she never did. Well we eventually flagged down a bus boy to grab us some new ketchup and he put his finger over the nozzle and shook it (not sure why) so that was pretty unsanitary. We also ordered the pineapple coleslaw bc it sounded interesting and was only $2. Well, I should have saved my$2 and used it to pick the dried gum off the dessert menu which was stuck to the condiment holder. A nice distraction from this was the table behind us dropping a glass from the second story onto the street where people were walking. I'm giving this place 1 star bc my rum and coke was only $5 and it's not possible to give zero stars.
