I was at the counter ready to pay for my breakfast and there was a woman in front of me trying to put in an application for waitress because they have a sign in their window advertising they were hiring. The owner, who we know went and got an application from the back. I waited and didn’t mind because we like Dino’s and could agree they need more wait staff. The lady seemed well qualified and a nice fit for the job and as a frequent customer, I’d appreciate to see more help. The owner returned from the kitchen with the application and handed it to the woman in front of me. The woman accepted the application and pulled out a tiny post it note from her purse with the days and hours she was available to work. I heard her say she had 4 kids all involved in summer camps and what not during summer break and was available every day, just depending on Am or PM. But the key thing I heard was that she was available every day…..the owner must not have listened to a single word she said bc she snatched the paper out of her hand and started to belittle her for not ever working on anyones schedule but her own! She repeatedly said to this poor lady, I DONT WORK ON YOUR SCHEDULE, YOU WORK ON MINE. I was for one, shocked that any owner of any establishment would think that you don’t have to work around peoples schedules, especially MOMS to have employees. It’s a restaurant….who do you think works there? Most people with kids. After the lady fought to get her point across that she was available EVERY DAY, the owner was eventually put out of words and tried to keep the paper with her availability on it. The lady snatched it from her in a not so nice tug o war match and left. I don’t blame her. I never witnessed anything so rude in my like and all the years I have been coming to dinos, I’ll never return. The owner of this place thinks she owns people. This is...
Read more1st time there. The waitress was very rude. I was a waitress for 26 years and never would of been so rude. We left ( took our food to go) I totally understand why there were 2 tables in the restaurant at peek dinner hour) I go out to eat a lot. I've had bad service before but she was down right rude. A good personality can make a meal great. Not in this case. I've never left a restaurant do to a rude waitress in my life. 1st time for everything, sadly. I rarely make posts but geez that was totally wrong. I'm sorry DINO Diner we won't be back. It would take me 15 minutes to write everything in this review. I hope the waitress changes her personality.Honestly I always enjoyed waiting tables. I enjoyed making people smile. I changed up my career to helping people who are elderly. Lady don't be rude to elderly people.They...
Read moreIts obvious customer service is a priority here. It's a nice family restaurant. You are greeted with a smile, promptly waited on & our server was attentive. There is a case of homemade goods ( pie, large muffins...) when you walk in that makes you desire something, even if it wasn't your main objective. We ended up taking something home with us & enjoyed it later. They have a varied menu form children to adults, from breakfast to lunch, to dinner. We enjoyed the Chili Mac, of which I had to take half home because of the generous portion. We went to Dino's after trying 2 downtown restaurants in Maumee for the first time, that were too loud, music wise that is, as well as a few patrons. I would recommend Dino' and plan on going back to sample other choices...
