Stopped by The Den on Payette and everything hit the spot, but I gotta say, the real standout was the S’mores Latte. On its own, it's probably amazing, but I decided to have a little fun with it and jokingly asked if they could add a shot of Baileys Irish Cream. That’s when Stacy, our server, said she could make it happen and she did. It took the drink to a whole new level. Creamy, sweet, with that toasted marshmallow vibe, and the Baileys added a smooth kick that just worked. If you're there on a hot day, get it iced. It’s the perfect drink for lake life, relaxing, fun, and something you’ll actually remember. Now onto the food. I had The Den Burger and it was seriously delicious. The meat was seasoned perfectly and super juicy. The toppings were fresh, the tomato was thick and flavorful, and the cheese had that golden crispy melt that adds so much flavor. Bacon was nice and crispy, avocado soft and creamy, and the bun was fresh and fluffy. Everything blended together really well. The fries were cooked in beef tallow which gave them a rich taste and just the right amount of crisp. One of the better burgers I’ve had in a while. My wife ordered the House Club Sandwich and I tried a few bites of it. Everything on it tasted fresh. The turkey and ham were solid, the bacon was thick and crispy, and the tomato had a nice juicy bite. It was a well-built sandwich and she loved it. The side salad was simple but fresh, and the vinaigrette had a nice tang. It did its job and balanced things out. The espresso shot was bold and smooth with a slightly sweet and sour finish. If you like your coffee with a little depth, it’s a good option. I didn’t get a pic of it, but the BBQ Brisket Sandwich looked big and stacked. I tried the brisket on its own and it was tender and full of flavor. Definitely something I’d come back to try fully next time. And last but definitely not least, Stacy was wonderful. Super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Great service all around and that little moment with the Baileys made it feel like more than just lunch, it felt like a real vacation. Overall, The Den on Payette delivered across the board. Great food, awesome drinks, chill atmosphere, and standout service. And if you go, don’t sleep on that S’mores Latte with Baileys. Trust me.

You can stop looking for a place to eat in McCall. No really.. finish this review and head on down there, it’s THAT good! The Den has it all, food better than your mom ever bought, a view over Payette Lake that should cost you extra but doesn’t, and service better than Chic-fil-A without those weird kids chanting “my pleasure!” This place has portions the size of your car and staff that treats you like family. The good part of your family, not that uncle who drinks and might be racist. The owners are the cook and hostess, so if you have a concern (you won’t) help is right there. Don’t forget to try their famous mimosas, just be careful not to overdo it or you might end up dancing on the nearby dock without your shirt. If you’re a guy, you probably don’t sip mimosas with your pinkie in the air, but they have beer on tap and the biggest wooden American flag you’ve ever seen, so you’ll be able to keep your Man Card. Don’t waste your vacation money anywhere else, you’ll want to get breakfast lunch AND dinner at The Den. This is where the locals eat, and you might even spot a movie star in there (you won’t). Treat yourself like a Kardashian and get your grub at the best place in the mountains of Idaho!

We stumbled upon The Den on our last day in McCall, and our only regret is not finding it sooner! We were in town for our elopement, and this ended up being the very first place we visited alone as a married couple—what a perfect spot to start that chapter. The owners (a wonderful husband-and-wife duo) were so welcoming, sharing their story of how they landed in McCall and making us feel like family. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the drinks? Absolutely incredible! The endless mimosa options were such a fun touch, and the grilled cheese we shared was mind-blowing. They made our experience so special, and we already can’t wait to come back for our anniversary every year. If you’re in McCall, don’t make our mistake—visit The Den as soon as you arrive!

We were in mid-day and seated pretty quickly. Our table just needed a quick wipedown. The waiter stopped by and said he would be back for our drink & food order. He was gone long enough that we had both decided on our meals. We had the french toast with hashbrowns and the carnivore plate (eggs, sausage, bacon, ham), plus a cinnamon roll. The food was amazing and large portions. The french toast appeared to be deep fried, which made it crispy outside and tender inside. Now the bad. Our waiter needs to watch some professionals and learn. After he took our order, he never checked back. No coffee or water refills. Other staff brought our food and they were confused about which table it went to. Several tables were upset about the long waits they experienced, as well. It was a busy time of day, and it was mentioned they were short staffed. As I went to get a to-go box, the greeter was warning patrons of the long wait. Perhaps limit the number of tables being served because the food...
