Baker’s has been a long time classic burger joint on the east side of McKinney for years. I have been coming here for a long time. It has gone under some ownership changes in recent years and within the last year a menu change as well. It still has burgers, but now it’s pushing crab and wings. It’s in the same small place off McDonald street. You still order at the window and then they call you over the loud speaker when your order is ready. I was feeling nostalgic and went with the mushroom Swiss burger and my all time favorite from the past onion rings. I’m still hesitant to order crab from this location. Bun or burger was like in the past soft and slightly toasted. The burger was very thin and didn’t have much flavor. The mushrooms were ok and cooked well, but not many of them. It was a B grade burger. The disappointment was the onion rings. Although, they were crunchy they were overcooked and almost burnt on some of them. I was pretty bummed. I’m afraid The Baker’s of the past is gone. Maybe the wings and crab are good and the way to go. I’m not sure if I will be back to...

The young woman taking orders was SO rude on so many levels. We asked before ever ordering if it was possible to get the “Monty” with a turkey patty instead of a beef patty to which she said yes. My husband orders and when we get the food it’s not a turkey patty. We went back and explained the patty is beef not turkey like discussed and she said “well yeah it’s the monty” then argued about what was ordered and snapped at me that my husband “didn’t order right” after we reiterated what was just discussed. then said it’s an extra $1 to make it a turkey patty (was not discussed before) so we gave her $1 and she says “it’s $1.08. There’s tax” so again we give her the tax. She then continues to question us on how to make the burger… We explained however the “Monty” comes but with a turkey patty instead of the beef patty. She rolled her eyes and walked away. When we got back to pick up the new Monty she gave dirty looks and dropped it on the counter and walked away again. The burger isn’t even made correctly at this point. She literally threw some mushrooms on it and called it good. So...

Please take this review as a first time customer. Service was great. Ordered online, choose something different in a waffle burger with cheese. It was good and so too the chili cheese tater tots. However, I felt it was very greasy as the tots were not crispy for my taste. This is a place more for the less health conscious, even with salad there, who really goes to a drive in stand for salad? On cheat day, this might be a try, but everyday, no thank you. Also, it's a place that you find a parking spot and pick up your food and get going, keep that in mind.

On Aug 7, a friday, I called the restaurant a you lady answered and put the phone down. I could hear them talking in the background and after a while I hung up and called again. I called over 15 times and phone stayed off the hook. My wife drove over there, and said they were trying to close. Pretty disappointed at the rudeness of the order taker! Jesse
