Historic McKinney Farmers Market at Chestnut Square — Local services in McKinney

My niece wanted to come to Texas for her graduation present. One of the main things she wanted to do was the farmers market. The market has been temporarily relocated to hunt Street between Tennessee and Kentucky. Right across from the library. The website does state this (which I didn't notice until after using the map on the website to try and walk to the market). The map still shows it to be in the original place so we walked the wrong way and had to turn around. At least we got some exercise. The farmers market sign does have a very small sign on it stating it has moved. It is difficult to read or even notice from your car so I didn't notice it when we drove past it heading to the square. There didn't seem to be as many booths as I thought there would be. Maybe since the temporary area is smaller than the previous location? There did seem to be a good variety of items though. There are no bathrooms. Most businesses state there is no public restroom. The library does have one, but doesn't open until 10 and the market starts at 8. So, make sure you have a strong bladder and don't drink too much coffee...

My favorite Saturday morning routine is to pick up the delicious baked goods I preordered from Rosemary Bakery, and eat them for breakfast nearby. I think my favorite is the blackberry pistachio croissant, but I usually get a selection of many of Brooke’s artisan pastries. I can’t go wrong, they’re all exemplary. (Pro tip: preorder between Sunday and Tuesday on their website, I always get what I want, no line at 10:00 ish) Then we visit John at Lewellen Farms for microgreens. Very charming farmer's market located on historical property encompassing a beautiful veranda and historical store. Everything is fresh and locally grown: from grass fed beef to fresh eggs, harvested honey, fresh vegetables, jerky, crafted products like lavender soap, artisan cheese, fresh baked artisan bread (try the Rosemary Lemon bread at the bread stand, it's like a sunshine burst in your mouth!
