I am writing this review hopefully to inform the management of the service I had tonight with my family, with hopes that things will change for the better. First thing's first, the food was amazing, we love cotton patch for its abundance of good food and friendly atmosphere, but I must admit the quality of service was horrendous. I have been waiting tables at an Italian restaurant down in Plano for a long time now, so whenever I dine out, I always try and give fellow servers the benefit of the doubt, as I also live off the generosity of restaurant guests. But upon being seated (our hostess was very polite and professional), it took upwards of five minutes to be greeted by our server. Although it was admittedly much longer than usual, I firmly believe that as long as our waiter warmly greeted us and provided good service from that point, it would be no problem. To my disappointment, however, our server did quite the opposite, as he approached us obviously in a hurry, "asking" us in a rather cold tone what we wanted to drink, without any welcome or giving us his name. We took that opportunity to order drinks, an appetizer, and all of our entrees at once, as we have had plenty of time to look over the menu by that point. I was further disappointed that it took upwards of another 4-5 minutes to receive our drinks, and by the time our appetizer arrived (the chips and queso and salsa), we did not receive our queso. As a waiter, on several occasions when food comes out wrong while I am serving, usually the fault lies partially on the chefs/ back of house, so I was forgiving of this mistake, but when we informed our server that we were missing the queso dip, he responded in a rather rude tone, telling us that he thought we said chips and salsa only, and promptly walked off. We got the appetizer removed from our bill, so I was not bothered much by the remark, although I was a bit let down. Our food came out at an appropriate time, and was delicious, but another problem occurred as my little brother and I attempted to ask for a refill on our sodas. Not only did they take upwards of 10 minutes to get, but we saw our waiter take drink orders from a few other tables in which they immediately received them, signaling to us that he forgot about our request. Now, on the flip side, we could clearly see that our server had multiple tables, and I am all to aware of the struggles of handling a bunch of different tables at once, so I can understand that he was busy, but by this point, he looked disengaged from our family. We got our drinks by waving down another staff member, who very professionally and promptly gave us our refills. By this point, we were done with our food, and although the service to this point wasn't very good, it was what happened next that really disappointed me. My father received his bill, and before we left, while we were still sitting down talking, our server picked up our check presenter as soon as he signed it, showing me that he was most likely watching him from afar, and only valued his money over providing quality service. It was the first time since I started working in the service industry that I was truly disgusted by the work of a fellow waiter. I got the feeling that he knew he didn't do a good job, but didn't want to attempt to recover or value our time, instead choosing to simply get our table over with. I'm not entirely sure If he was a new worker, or if he was dealing with any personal issues but it really showed tonight. Again, I want to emphasize that I love the food, and I love going to Cotton Patch with my family, and also I am aware that this is a busy place, where servers are trained to "turn and burn" to make more money, but me and my family were thoroughly let down tonight. I hope for everyone else's sake that this never happens to...
Read moreI had probably the worst dinning experience ever today. This particular location has never given great service. The last few times i went the service was okay but not great. One time about 2 years ago they forgot to bring 1 out of 4 people dinning meal but they apologized and gave her meal free since she didnt get it till after everyone finished. This time we had a table of 9 and after an hour and 15 of waiting on our food the waitress comes out and tells us the kitchen mixed up our checks with the table of 14. So they only cooked half of the food and the waitress had to retake our order. Finally they bring out our food and one person she brought out a hamburger instead of a grilled cheese sandwich. One person they forgot to bring anything. My food which was the turkey dinner (sunday special) she didn't bring sides. After just getting the turkey and stuffing i asked her about the sides and she was unaware it came with sides even though it is advertised at the entrance. She finally brings the sides to go for me. At this time they bring the grilled cheese out. About 20 minutes later they bring the last meal out at this point most the table finished eating 30 minutes ago. I went for my birthday and asked for the dr pepper cake as my birthday dessert. They bring the cake out without the ice cream. We correct them it comes with ice cream 5 minutes later they bring it out. Finally they bring the check and they charged us for 3 different sides that came with the meals as well as my "free" birthday dessert. I told her we had a 20 percent coupon. It was indicated they took money off which was 10 percent for the delay with the food the waitress never said anything about it and we havent even seen a manager. I tell the waitress about the errors in the check and request to speak to a manager. She corrects the errors on the check. She takes the card to pay for it. We still havent spoke with the manager and she goes and finally tells him we wanted to talk to him. He comes over and then we tell him about the service and he then blames everyone else. The new waitress, the cooks, and the other manager who conveniently just left. He gives a coupon for a free meal for 2 and appetizer only good for that location. He stated it was valued at $40.Then finally runs the check which is only $65 at this point. The food was good when you finally get it. The staff seems new/needs training. The manager did not seem to care he just didnt want a bad review. We got to the restaurant at 1pm and did get to leave until 3:30. It only took about 10 minutes to get seated since the first round of lunch crowd were all leaving...
Read moreI have visited this location only once before and it was after this pandemic started. I was quite happily surprised at the excellent service and food during that first visit. However, the dining experience my children and I had tonight, was awful to say the least. We waited at our table after being seated for at least 8 minutes before our server came by. Meanwhile, the family of four that had been sat across from us only four minutes prior was already greeted with rolls and had given their drink and appetizer order. When our server arrived, I was finally able to request a menu as there was only a QR Scan code on the table and my phone was not compatible with reading it. She took off and returned after about 5 minutes to tell me that there was not a single hard copy menu in the place and offered me to use her phone for the menu. Given the current contamination concerns, I politely declined. I had to look the menu up on my internet. It was a bit difficult because the site kept redirecting me to online ordering just to view the menu. It was just a frustrating situation. While I looked over the menu, our server went to get our drinks and order a soup and salad for our starters. The salad came out wrong and the cup of soup was barely room temperature when they came out about 10 minutes after ordering them. Our server never asked how the starters came out and our food was delivered by a different server. Our server did not come back by until we were more than halfway through eating. I was finally then able to ask for ketchup and napkins as we had only had one square beverage napkin this whole time. Before I was able to ask for these things, my server walked up and immediately asked if we were ready for the check. I said no and requested the ketchup and napkins. When she returned with them, she then asked if I was going to need anything else or if that was all we were ordering. I informed her that we might consider dessert but my kids were still eating. The food was finished and plates were stacked before she returned again. Needless to say, we did not desire to order dessert. We...
