I had minimal damage to my iPhone screen (just some cracks in corners/nothing impairing actual screen) but I wanted to get repaired in the event it may get worse. I was very picky with my search. As I have never damaged a phone before, I did my research and wanted to find a place with a legitimate website and mostly good reviews. This is where I stumbled upon UBreakiFix. With 400+ locations, I thought I would surely be in good hands. And while their prices were much higher than neighboring locations closer to home, I wanted to have my phone with a trustworthy source. Online, it reads, most repairs can be completed in 30 mins or less..so that was my expectation. When I arrive, they give me an estimate of 2 hours. I pointed out their website says otherwise but slightly frustrated, I agree. In 2 hours, I return to find my phone hasn’t even been started on yet. They proceed to ask me to give them another 45 minutes.. Finally, my phone is complete. Upon picking it up, everything appeared to be in good shape, I pay and head home. As I begin using my phone, I notice the screen is beginning to look a little pixelated. Next thing I know, everything is doubled up and blurry. Now I’m angry. I call back into UBreakiFix McKinney and they apologize ensuring me that this is not normal and to bring it back in the next day as they were getting ready to close. As the night goes on, my display progressively gets worse. When I took my phone in the first place, there was very little cosmetic damage. Now, I can’t use my phone at all, cannot even read the text messages and emails coming in. Not wanting to wait another day after the 3 hours I already spent waiting, I see The Colony location is open later so I call over there and ask if they can help me. They tell me they are out of the screen for my phone but I could check back in a couple days...clearly not an option. I hesitantly wait until morning and arrive at the Mckinney store as soon as they open. After driving all the way back there a second time, I’m told they are now sold out of my phone screen and I need to go to Plano. Are you kidding me? Why wouldn’t the guy tell me that the night before when I called in? So now, I’m driving even further to Plano, when I arrive, I let them know Mckinney sent me. The associate here lets me know that they never received a call from McKinney this morning..but they’ll take a look in the back and see if they have my screen in stock..seriously? Fortunately they did but I’m given another 2 hour wait timeframe. I explain that is impossible, I’m going to sit here and wait. I was out of Plano much quicker than McKinney but still very upset with my experience. Now my screen is clear but simple things like auto-brightness no longer work. Next time, I’ll be using the Groupon location for half the price that my husband went to and have quicker and better results. Very disappointed...
Read moreI just want to say "Wow!" Honestly, I was a little flustered when I came in to have my cracked phone repaired. I dropped it and couldn't log in to my banking over the weekend, causing multiple issues for me. Ashlea noticed that I wasn't the happiest camper, so she smiled and guaranteed me that everything was going to be okay (LoL). I was so appreciative of her for lightening the mood. She couldn't possibly know how much that small gesture meant to me. Sometimes things happen, and that situation can seem like the worst thing that could ever happen in that present moment (Haha)! She made me realize that it wasn't all that bad, and that I did have help now. Miguel was also extremely helpful and kind. I asked him why their accessories were so high, and Miguel patiently explained to me how the Liquid Glass Screen Protector would help prevent me from breaking my cell phone a third time! LoL!! My iphone6S+ has an awkwardly sized screen, so accessories are harder to find; and I hate shopping online, so I never replaced the original protector. Also, the liquid glass came with $100 warranty in case some mishap allowed shock to penetrate the protector, in which the warranty would completely cover the next repair (if needed). I have worked in customer service for over a decade, and typically find that "Customer Service" just isn't what it used to be. I am quite refreshed when I stumble upon it. I am so happy to see people genuinely showing empathy to other human beings. This business is one that still holds customer service to a pretty high standard.
Thanks...
Read moreMy experience with this establishment was nothing short of a disaster. I took my functional Google Pixel in to get a battery replacement. Seems easy enough and as they are certified by Google to I felt sure this was the right place to get the work done. The first battery replacement went smooth enough however, the "technician" forgot to attach the charging ribbon back when reassembling the phone. I understand this type of mistake can happen so the next day I went to pick up the phone and they had said that a new screen had to be installed because the the "technician" ruined the original screen during disassembly. They did this free of charge. However when I got the phone back, the phone said it would charge, but it would not increase in percentage. I once again went back to find out that the motherboard had become ruined at some point during all of the work. But a new one was said to be ordered and arriving in the next week and would be covered. A week goes by and I go to pick up my bricked phone only to be told that the motherboard was not covered under the 90 day warranty and would cost out of pocket. To their fairness they did refund me for the original battery replacement, but I write this as a warning to other people, these people are just some jebronis that cannot do the work they promise. They turned my functional phone into a brick and when given the opportunity to fix it, they just want more money. If you go here, just know that you are nothing but the next sorry soul they can use to...
