Medford Indian Cuisine — Restaurant in Medford

The food was excellent. Medford has some pretty good Indian restaurants and this definitely belongs near the top of the list. I ordered the butter chicken and a side of naan and it was all delicious and was more than enough food for dinner.

I do have some minor housekeeping recommendations for the owners since it’s a relatively new restaurant and we noticed a couple of things while dining on a Friday night. The location in a row of restaurants has a fair amount of restaurant workers who go out back to smoke and if the back door gets opened wide on a cold night then that smoke gets sucked into the restaurant in a noticeable way for a minute or two. Also, the glass on the tables had streaks from the rag rather than appearing totally clean. We still had an excellent time, and we’ll be back again. Today I had a craving for schawarma. I was debating whether to try the place at the mall or this place, as I had never been since the ownership change. I did not see schwarma on the menu and so felt a little dissapointed, but decided to try something new over my usual indian fare choices. I chose biryani even though I'm not a big rice eater. It was so good. The rice was light and perfectly seasoned and with delicately minced peppers. Mine came with a generous amount of chicken and am enjoying the leftovers now for dinner. When ordering I asked for hot tea. I was expecting a typical black tea. I was pleasantly suprised when I got the most amazing cup of chai. It was an authentic experience. We stopped by here for lunch and the place was completely empty. We ordered Vegetable Pakora, Chicken Tikka Masala, Naan, and Dal Makhani — the curry and dal came with a side of rice. The portions of dal and curry felt a bit small, but overall, the food tasted good. We had asked for the dishes to be made spicy, and they happily customized them to our preference.
