I ordered online and Uber Eats is the delivery service they use. No problem with them - the delivery gal was great and communicated very well.
For $9.59 I got 4 chicken strips. 4 The ordering process said zero about the portion size and they didn't look anything like the picture. Not even close.
For $7.49 I got maybe 3-4 Oz of cheese curds (fried mozzarella). Again - a very small portion for the price.
They prominently display a .49 delivery fee - ok, cool.
The service fee of nearly $4 wasn't shown until paying. Why? Why hide it until checking out? What exactly is this fee paying for? What do they do differently than if I dinned in? Put my food in a plain brown paper bag & tape it shut? Do you they charge me a service fee for serving me when I'm there? This is a pure bs gouge. Pure and simple blatant gouge. C'mon - you're making your profit from the food and drinks. Why rip customers off like this? Sure - it was my choice to do business with them but they hid the fee until the very end & I was hungry.
My food came in 2 of those red and white checkerboard rectangular paper bowls that were stacked on top of each other in a brown paper bag without even a logo or any restaurant info on it. Nothing.
Then there's the receipt. It had my name, online order info and other basic stuff about Uber, etc. Right under my name was a phone number I didn't recognize. It wasn't anywhere close to any number I've ever had. Why was it right under my name if they weren't indicating it was mine? It wasn't identified as theirs. The area code wasn't for where they're located. So who's number was it? The driver texted me so they had my number.
This receipt is the first one I've ever seen in my nearly 67 years that didn't show how much I paid. Nothing. Weird. It showed nothing about the restaurant. No name, location - nothing. Bizarre. Are they so cheap they refuse to pay for a better system? I've seen this place online when looking for other restaurants. I've never been there & will never go. Tonight is the first & last time I'll do business with them. All together I paid $24.35 for a very small amount of food and Google Pay charged me $1.00 for the privilege of using them.
My first experience with Wayback Burgers was horrible and will NOT be repeated.
Do they just not care because of the anonymous nature of the transaction? Do they know most people won't do anything about terrible remote service and have no qualms about taking people's money and not providing equal value? It's more than obvious that's exactly what they're doing & fully intend to keep doing and getting away with it for probably a very long time at this point.
They took my money just fine but most certainly did NOT provide equal value for what I paid. Not even close.
Restaurant delivery is a racket.
It's a bs ripoff and this place has mastered it.
If you patronize them you're only enabling them and rewarding their shittyness.
How they have a 4 star overall rating...
Read moreI came in on a weekday evening with my boyfriend. We ordered 1 burger and 1 Caesar salad. I received a pile of plain lettuce with 1 single tiny serving of caesar dressing (after being asked what dressing I would like... on my Caesar salad). No croutons, no parmesan, nothing but lettuce. This is not a ceasar salad. I even checked the company's website to ensure they don't just call it caesar based on what dressing you get. They do not. It is supposed to come with the appropriate toppings expected on a caesar, as pictured literally on their own website. We went to Wayback specifically because I knew they had caesar salads and that is what I wanted for dinner so it was disappointing to receive literally nothing but plain lettuce... Could've gotten a better caesar pre-made at the grocery store.
The staff didn't even acknowledge us when we first walked in and we were the only people in there. Waited another 5 or so minutes after they finally noticed people for them to come to the register for our orders. There was no one else coming in to pick up mobile orders either so I'm not sure what was taking so long. Only one other person came in after us and they were there to order food so not really clear on why everything was so slow. It took about 25 minutes for us to receive our single burger and single pile of plain lettuce so again, not sure what they were doing that took up so much of their time. The people who came in about 20 minutes after us only waited around (maybe) 10 minutes for their food and they both ordered similar meals as we did. Seems pretty noticeably inconsistent in wait times for the same/similar meals.
Overall this establishment did not live up the hype. The only thing I really liked about this place is it was relatively quiet while we were there which is unusual for this type of dining. Even the blenders for milkshakes...
Read moreMy son and I went in at 8pm. We were the only customers in the restaurant. We ordered 2 burgers, 1 tater tot and 1 drink. Our food took over 20 minutes and came out wrong. The tots were cooked in old oil that tasted so terrible we couldn’t eat it and I asked for ranch and they brought me thousand island, which it clearly states on the receipt that I asked for ranch. My burger was specifically ordered with lettuce, onion and bbq sauce ONLY! They brought it out loaded with mustard and ketchup. I asked them to please fix as this wasn’t what I ordered and the guy went back to the girl cooking, who took my order and said it was wrong and they proceeded to talk trash about me because I asked for BBQ sauce. They brought it back out and it still had mustard on it and no BBQ sauce like I asked for the first time they messed up. So I went back and I asked again for only BBQ sauce and the trash talking continued so I acknowledged that I heard them saying rude things and that I ask for it to be fixed this time. She throws brown pieces of lettuce on my burger, puts a new top bun WITH NO BBQ sauce and hands my burger to me. At this point I just walked away as there was no point in asking for my burger to be correct since they couldn’t fix it 3 times already. It even says CLEARLY on the receipt that it is to have BBQ Sauce. The place was dead. How is this even possible? The customer service is severely lacking too. I can spend $25 bucks elsewhere and get my order correct with some delicious food and great customer service. I...
