My wife and I were in Memphis Tennessee the other day and we were both very hungry. We looked at several restaurants to eat at and this Red Hook just happened upon us as we were going down one of the roads. It was a nice break from the chain type restaurants I really try not to go to mini Chain restaurants because I've noticed that you lose the atmosphere, the quality of food, and the quality of service when a restaurant is a chain restaurant because you don't have anyone over seeing it day and night. I'm not saying they don't have managers at the chain restaurants but they don't have a vested interest in it like an owner Anyhow so I went to this beautiful restaurant and the food was fantastic. As I looked through the menu I ordered the fried oysters which came out and they seemed to be beautifully fresh. Well as fresh as you can get with a pre- shucked oyster. The calamari was delicious and also the shrimp that I had. You couldn't ask for a better Fry on the stuff. They were tender they were juicy they were flavorful and they brought plenty of lemon out for me. My wife and I had the same meal because it was just delicious looking. The shrimp fried as well as the oysters fried. Man and the calamari again was fantastic. Anyhow as we waited about 10 minutes for our food to come out which was great for a lunchtime meal. The atmosphere was right there the sharks and all of the little plastic sea creatures all over the wall. I recommend this place to everyone who's in Memphis and wants a nice quick inexpensive meal. Hold on what I mean is you can spend hundreds of dollars there if you choose but for what I had I think I spent $43 from me and my wife. That includes appetizers and soda drinks. The tip was about $10 is what I normally leave on a meal that's about $40. The server was really nice and the place was nice and the servers were beautiful. That does matter when you go to a restaurant you want service from people who care about how they look. I'm not saying their faces are beautiful but what I mean is they take pride in the way that they dress and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I went to this location Monday night for dinner, and Tierra was our waitress. Above everything, service is everything to me, so honestly, it could have been better. We both ordered the Thursday special boil (shrimp, snow crab legs, potatoes, and corn), and we added sausage. I also added an egg. The food tastes pretty good, that is until I noticed my bag had scallops in it. I had already started to eat out of it, but I noticed my sausage was missing. I brought it to her attention, and she went to check what she put in the system, and stated she made an error and hit the wrong button, but she would get my sausage out to me. Ok, no problem. I continued to eat. So then it dawned on me, wait, I'm not gonna be charged for this, so I asked her. She replied, "Yes, because you had already started to eat out of it, i can take it back, and they will remove the scallops out the bag!!!"...wait what???!!! So I complied, and they removed the scallops and brought it backšš. I was shocked. Then our waitress disappeared for a minute, we were awaiting drink refills, we asked another waitress, she said ok, but guess she forgot too. Tierra finally came by and took care of it. At the end we did speak with the manager when he came around checking on customers and I expressed my concerns about what happened, and he apologized and stated that was not supposed to happen and he did give the waitress clarity in a nice and calm manner on how to handle those situations going forward. I can...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMe and my husband just left this establishment. The wait wasn't long, but the waiter was very nonchalant. She didn't check on us throughout our meal or anything like the other waiter was. I forgot her name, but she had braces. The most important thing I'm LIVID about, is that I ordered a watermelon HOUSE margarita, she put it in a to go cup because they were closing, that was fine, but we get in the car, my husband tells me how much the bill was, because I never looked at the receipt. So he told me and I was like what! $105! We hardly got anything! So I asked him where the receipt was, and he left it on the table, but then proceeded to tell me my house margarita was rang up as $18.99 on the receipt !!! The menu clearly showed it as $8.99! I absolutely cannot believe we got scammed like this. This has never happened. Then he gave her a tip, even though she had poor service. If we had that receipt, I would take this as far as I possibly could! We were already gone and they were closed by the time he told me. Such a scam, such a poor experience. I will NEVER be back here. CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS EVERYONE! BECAUSE THEY OBVIOUSLY...
