Tokyo Grill — Restaurant in Memphis

If I could leave this place zero stars I WOULD. First of all, I called the restaurant to try and place a pickup order, and since not all Japanese restaurants are the same in what quantity of rolls they offer, k asked for clarification of how many pieces of sushi come in there rolls. Whoever picked up the phone was extremely rude and snappy just for answering simple questions I had. Giving them the benefit of the doubt) I called back after figuring what I wanted to order and when I asked for 4 yum yum and teriyaki sauces (because I had two 4 rolls which he told me comes with 8 pieces of sushi, and we like a lot of sauce) the person told me “that’s too much sauce, you don’t need that.”

I was baffled and asked why would I need to be told what’s too much, especially when I had no issue to pay for sauce if that was the case. This person didn’t even tell me that extra sauce may be a fee or anything, he proceeds to argue with me and asked “do you understand what I’m saying.”

I was so livid with the lack and disgust in their customer service for a TOGO ORDER, I hung up the phone. This person, manager, whoever, didn’t give me the chance to order and was extremely rude and I will NOT be spending my coins here. I hope the other locations are not this...

I really don't have anything bad to say about this restaurant. I'm really glad I stumbled upon it because it kind of seems like a hole in the wall but you go in and it's a decent little hibachi restaurant. I get the same thing every single time I come. And I always get carryout. I either order when I get here or I order online. I always get shrimp fried rice with crab wonton. The kitchen staff are always hard-working, the place is always busy but yet very efficient and fast. There is a decent amount of seating and they're actually are people that will wait on you. Everyone is always been very polite. Even though they are fast and they do cater to doordash as well, they never make you feel rushed. And my shrimp fried rice is always delicious. I've never had a bad visit. Even when they're crazy busy, the quality of the food is just as good as when they're nearly empty of customers. The bento box is a perfect meal, and comes with a wide selection of proteins to go along with its fried rice, tempura, and sushi rolls. For me, it's often two meals, because the amount of protein (chicken, beef, shrimp, and others) and fried rice is so much that I'll eat everything else and then take the meat and rice home to eat, later.

Their sushi is so good, and their appetizer choices are on point. If you're usually a Chinese food person, you'll like your choices at this Japanese restaurant.
