I was using their Super Star app for an offer which was bogo, Western Bacon Cheeseburger. So upon presenting the coupon on the phone/app screen first, then adding 1 sm. Fries, and one sm. Drink. Which at ANY other fast food place would amount to a combo on the first PAID order since the exact sandwich was ordered. Then anyone anywhere else would expect to pay the combo price and get the one single matching sandwich free. Well they charged sandwich, fries and drink each as separate items. Which made the order for 1 sandwich 1. Sm. Fries, and 1 sm. Drink total 8.97 before tax. The cost for the same 3 items together as a combo is posted on the board as 7.69 before tax. So one is forced to PAY the additional 1.28 before tax. Which stated another way would be get the combo and PAY 1.28 for the FREE matching sandwich. Carl's Jr (CKE) are duping the client base in an unscrupulous way. I'm a senior citizen existing on an extremely tiny retirement hence using any and all forms of money saving coupons and apps. I spoke to the General Manager, who was on duty, about my issue while we were consuming our humble order. She under stood my issue and went on to say that's how they have us enter it in the computer/cash register offering only that excuse and leaving it at that.... ANY GM elsewhere with true customer service concerns would in fact rectify the issue ON THE SPOT! I went over it yet once more to make sure she understood where I the customer was coming from as succinctly as possible. She nodded her head as understanding my position, and verbally repeated the same diatribe about "They" as corporate procedure. Therefore I informed her I'd be performing an internet review in multiple places and also try to get to the corporate customer (dis) service department to discuss the ussue. Still the "General Manager" made no attempt to do yet rectify the issue.... Having discussed it repeatedly and making sure I was understood leads me to this posting. Read moreI stopped on my way hone 15 miles before I got there. But 2 out of 2 Big Carl's were made wrong. I tried calling to talk to a manager at least 5 times when I got home. But after about 30 seconds each time it said nobody was available to answer & hung up, So I had to drive another 40 minutes round-trip to tell a manager! But I changed the incorrect toppings on one Burger to the other one to make it correct. And I left the second Burger at home for my Wife to add sauce to that was supposed to have Sauce on the side. Since my Wife & Son were very hungry.
When I got there, I told a Shift Manager what they did wrong & asked her what she would do about it. But even though I showed her my receipt, she said I needed to bring back both Burgers to do anything about it! So I raised my voice & told her no other fast food restaurant ever asked me for incorrectly made food back. Since they just throw it away. And I said since their app is hard to use & her bad service I would never go there again!
As I was leaving, the Restaurant Manager who just started asked me what was wrong. I told her & she offered to remake it then. But I said my family fixed most of their problems already. So I asked her if it can be remade correctly the next time I come in. She said yes & wrote with a Sharpie on my receipt my correct order on it. She offered me a free drink for my almost 50 minutes of wasted time. But I said I was ordering another item that's regular price was more than their largest drink. So I asked if I could get it instead, She said yes & made it. And she apologized about her rude Shift Manager. And I thanked her for her offering to make remake it correctly next time.
So they should always answer their phone when they aren't busy, like they weren't then. And all of the Shift Managers should be trained correctly to keep customers happy to...
Read moreCame in for a quick bite to eat. Got the barbeque chicken sandwich and crosscut fries. My wife got a regular jumbo hamburger. Food came fast and I thought it was a bit too fast and I understood why. The fries were like they used motor oil to cook them in. Dark brown and smelled really harsh. They tasted like you'd imagine a used valve cover gasket would taste like. I promptly returned them to the counter and was offered an exchange (using the same disgusting oil) or get regular fries (apparently from different oil vat). So I got those instead (didn't get reimbursed the difference in price though), not even an apology actually but that's ok. place was nice and clean, smelled okay, not busy so I don't understand the not Changing the oil part. C'mon guys. There's plenty of parking. Well lit and in a decent area. Prices are as Carles Junior always are ... Expensive. At least to me they are. Yeah it's worth going here.
