On February 14th at 7:15 I placed my order via the employee in the drive thru. When I proceeded to the window, Megan informed me that I didn’t have an order. I told her that I did and that I paid and it was already pending on my bank app. She rudely told me that my order wasn’t in and that I would have to place another order and pay again despite the initial payment already pending on my bank app. She insisted that I wouldn’t get my food until I paid and that I would have re-order and repay. I placed an order and I showed her that it was now showing two payments. I asked her to refund it and she told me to get out of her drive thru and loudly told all of the employees to not talk to me and again told me to get out of her drive thru. She was incredibly rude and condescending. I had already been waiting for quite some time at this point. She began giving food to all of the cars behind me, intentionally ignoring my order. After quite some time passed they begrudgingly handed me my order. I asked for the rest of my order and drinks. She was incredibly unpolite about it. She didn’t provide a receipt so I parked and went inside so I could get a receipt so I could have it to show my bank that I was double charged for the same transaction. When I went inside to get my receipt, once again she was unprofessional to say the least. Once I got the receipt they said that I wasn’t welcome back and that they have all the right to refuse service. I drove home crying hysterically about the amount of disrespect that I have just received. I work in healthcare so I have thick skin but I never in my life experienced such disrespect. I attempted to contact corporate but they were closed. Once I sat down to eat I noticed that my drink was also incorrect. I ordered a coke and I received something that resembles either watered down tea or coke with no syrup in it. I was so upset that my husband drove back to the restaurant to ask for the refund of the double payment. He asked to speak to the manager and it was Megan, the one who was incredibly unprofessional and rude. She treated my husband no better. I will never return to this location. While Chick-fil-A is typically praised for its service, this particular branch stands out for the wrong reasons. We ordered five sandwiches but only received four. Although I realize I should have double-checked my order, I’ve never encountered issues with Chick-fil-A before, so I didn’t feel it was necessary. Since we don’t live nearby, it was frustrating to discover that one person in our group was left without their sandwich at dinner time. When I called the store, they offered us a replacement sandwich, but it had to be redeemed within a week. Anyone familiar with the traffic in this area knows how challenging it is to navigate, especially coming from the east side of Newport. We requested a milkshake as a small gesture for the inconvenience caused by their mistake, but they declined. It’s hard to understand why a returning customer wouldn’t be offered a simple shake after spending $52.04. After reflecting on this experience it happened on March 15th, I’ve decided that this company doesn’t deserve my patronage. Read moreI have been to this Chick Fil A several times and have had positive experiences. I love that they offer little placemats so that kiddos can spread their food out on a clean surface! Service is prompt and people are friendly. My kiddo and I like to sit at the outdoor seating area. Things are well stocked and everything is usually clean, including the bathrooms.
The only negative experience I had was last year sometime--- I had ordered two ice cream cones and was waiting for them to be made. When the employee handed me one ice cream cone, I was confused and let her know that I had ordered two. When looking at my receipt, I realized that she had only charged me for one. She charged me for an additional cone, wasnt very interactive/ personable and didnt apologize for the miscommunication. I didn't mind paying, but I almost felt like they thought I was lying and trying to get a free cone. I also was slightly annoyed that I had to grab my card from my purse again while my ice cream was melting. As a former business owner, I think that I would have gone the extra mile and would have given the cone for no charge.
