Asian Buffet — Restaurant in Meriden

The food was very horrible it looks delicious but looks are deceiving it looks nice and piping hot steam coming up out of everywhere but is it imitation smoke or something because the food was nasty !! Just disgusting I felt like I want to vomit right after. no one greeted us no one asked us if we needed any water extra napkins, nothing they just stared at us. we had to ask can we be seated. No one was at the Hibachi Buffet so that I can get hibachi rice fresh to order. Finally they came over like they had an attitude when I was asking for the cook. Also. I had to ask where the white rice was that he fries. he just pointed I was unaware where it was because this is my first time there. not to mention we drove an hour to come here I called first to even ask if they had the hibachi grill. Hibachi food was not even cooked all the way no sauce at all it was no love in the food whatsoever and we are all cooks in my family if you don’t cook with the main ingredient which is love you should not be cooking at all!!! Sat there to waste time to try and find something we liked. Finally it was time to go I asked the manager is there something that he could do being that we drove an hour away and we were unhappy with the service or the food he just stared at me as if he did not know English then finally after I continue to ask him he said the price is the price it doesn’t matter!!! I was so disgusted I’m never going...

As it is a buffet, I will review each food I tried individually:

Braised Pork: This was really good! The skin was perfect and seasoned, not super greasy. It is sat in a sauce, which is a good topping.

Cheese Pizza: completely undercooked and flavorless. There was raw dough on everything but the crust. The cheese looks like it was warmed separately in the microwave and then placed on top.

General Tso Chicken: This was ok. The sauce is really good. The chicken itself was odd, the texture I can only describe as a "solid pudding."

Honey chicken: the sauce was overpowering, probably to try and mask how rancid and old the chicken was. If you taste something wrong, DO NOT EAT IT.

Loaded potato: There was something wrong, flavor-wise. It was somehow sweet(?). Potato itself was mostly raw.

Lo mein: noodles were also very sweet and mushy.

Mac and cheese: Again, for some reason, sweet and the cheese tasted very old.

I can not recommend this place for the food.

The staff was very kind and understanding. General atmosphere...

I use to like it here but the cashier is a thief and I caught her over charging for the weight of my food they were closing so ik most of the stuff there been all day and mayb don’t taste so fresh so I tasted some of it nobody told me I cudnt taste that all day sitting out food, nobody still didn’t say u can’t taste the food i dont know if it was a black thing but the Chinese chef kept watching us and giving us nasty looks, then we got to the cashier she charge me 9 bucks for my small order and wen i called her out and went behind the counter to see the weight she still press the button twice and it had 3.99 at first and wen she dbl press the button on the scale it displayed 6.99 the cashier last night wen closing is a THIEF becareful wen they weigh ur food they r not honest ppl working here i hope my TikTok vid goes out to everyone in our area ppl need to know about that thief. Ur a dishonest hateful woman and ppl shud know u rob ur customers....
