This experience was one of the saddest experiences of a micro managed, poorly run business I’ve ever seen. There were three people working. There were 15 people behind me in line, so 16 people to be served. The line wrapped around the room. We arrived at 7:45 pm and got our ice cream at 8:50. Why? Because only one person was allowed to serve customers who came to the store!!! One person was “required by management “ to make waffle cones. There were 88 waffle bowls and 40 waffle cones already made. We stood there in line and watched her make more. Another person was filling “to go” orders and pints for the freezer. Did she help the person serving customers? Nope, not while I was there. They both watched the poor person drowning and did not serve one person standing in line. While the designated server worked as fast as she could.
The second part of this review that cemented the one star rating was their ice cream freezer was broken so they only had a few flavors for sale and no smoothies. The ice cream being served was pulled from freezers in the back of the store. The ice cream I was served was filled with ice crystals, like freezer burn ice crystals. Gross. It was not the ice cream I ordered, and the wrong size. But again, this poor person was working as fast as she could and was completely frazzled. She had a pile of dirty ice cream scoops across half the counter and was scooping from containers sitting on the counter behind her, un refrigerated. There was liquid ice cream and sorbets that had separated (milk from flavorings, sorbets into juices and foam) in the display case, so they had been sitting out long enough to melt. Which is long enough to call in someone early or have the manager come in and help. Really poorly managed and run, with the result being a poor product. I genuinely feel sorry for the one person who was working her fingers to the bone. Will...
Read moreLet me start out by saying that I have been a loyal ColdStone customer for literally decades. The ice cream is amazing and this company was once built on the overall experience and customer service it provided. So when I nicely asked for a to-go lid and then watched as this employee got annoyed, scraped off the top of my $10 cup of ice cream, handed me the cup, and left the rest of the ice cream sitting on the slab to throw away I was a a little shocked. To make matters worse, and 100% more awkward, she got extremely rude and then stormed off. As I was paying, her and another employee were audibly gossiping about me about one foot away, while one glared at me. I am more than willing to patiently stand in a line for 15-20 minutes and always tip as I know that most employees are high school students working hard. I worked in the service industry for many years so I don’t leave bad reviews, and generally go out of my way to point out great service. So this review is more of a PSA for management ; This customer service, and the way I was made to feel was unwarranted and disrespectful over the most petty thing imaginable. I know that this is a franchise and that not all stores run the same way, but owner, have you looked at past Google reviews of the customer service at this Meridian location? Because I did before writing this, and I can assure you that I am not at all the only person to experience this. As clearly stated on the ColdStone website: “Our commitment to customer satisfaction is not just a catchphrase, it’s a fundamental principle that drives every decision we make.” I urge you to monitor how your customers are being treated. Not sure the names of these employees but they were two females, 5/4/24 at...
Read moreWe made an order through their app around four pm and got delivered at around five pm. The orders were four items, and only got three. The order was through their official app and the delivery services they offer is through DoorDash, so a refund for the item should be through their app, and because the app doesn't offer the option to report a missing item, we called many times to the store, no answer.
The phone was ringing though. We decided to go all the way to the store and turns out they were out of power. Understandable, but why did you only sent me 3/4 items? Why aren't you picking up the phone?
At the store, we were greeted by 2 employees (they were about to leave) who were not helpful at all, they were rude and told us "Do you want a 10 dollar bill?" What the heck? (They were not receiving any help from any of their managers so it seemed).
When asking how to get a refund they failed to provide us with information of how to get a refund. We lost the money we spent on one item, the gas to get to the store and all for nothing.
In other places when there's an issue with anything not working, they have a few employees still at the place to help costumers, I mean, even if the electricity is out in your store, orders are still coming in and people will show up to see what is going on, they deserve explanations.
ALL THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF YOU COULD BE MORE CAREFUL TO MAKE ORDERS RIGHT. IF SOMEONE GETS DELIVERY IS TO AVOID GOING TO THE STORE. TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES BETTER TO BE ABLE TO OFFER SOLUTIONS TO COSTUMERS.
What a way to ruin our weekend.
(They also said the phone wasn't working because of the lack of electricity... I have worked at fast food before, if you're going to lie, do a...
