If the service was ok this would be a whole different story. Either everyone was new, high, or just was plain bad at their job the day we came in. BBQ places normally, and understandably, take quite a bit of time for your orders to be prepared. Getting drinks that don't need to be prepared 40 minutes after ordering them is nowhere in that bracket, things like sodas or bottled beers.

Food was good, as was expected because I have always heard good things about this place. The friends I had come with said there had never been such horrible service any of the many times they've been here before. No matter how many tickets are ahead of yours does it take an hour to get drinks out, even if they're cocktails. Having been in the service industry I know there's mix ups sometimes and servers forget (which this one obviously did), but no one wanted to own up to it and instead told sad lies. And if they weren't lies than that's even more sad because honestly you would've then hired a bartender that simply sucks at their job (and I don't believe that to be true).

If you have servers that are new, suck, and or just love getting brain dead high in the freezers just be honest and say they goofed.

More complaints on the service, our server actually forgot to take some of our party's orders and we had to remind him before he tried to speed away into the abyss. Along with forgetting orders he forgot that some orders came with sides and we had to remind him of that too (which wouldn't be much of a problem if not for everything else, I've been there myself but then again I say sorry and don't try to play it off). Also I've always been one to tip. Thinking of a tip in this situation would feel comparable to an actual mugging with how negligible the service was.

Manager was nice and did his best to try and help at moments, but my main issue is that no one simply wanted to take responsibility for the server simply forgetting to put things in for like half an hour. We all get side tracked. We live, forgive, and forget. We can't go through that process if there's no sincerity to begin with.

Place looks nice, nothing much to be said there. Great looking place, furniture fits the vibe they'd wanna go for. Actual staff is nice. Women at the door greet you, say goodbye, never seemed annoyed even though I know myself how tiring these kind of jobs can be.

All the good things about this place are what made our experience that much worse. It seemed like everything else in this place was great except for the personal experience being handed to us (and probably whoever else had that server, unless we were selectively ignored due to the size of our party to begin with).

Normally people go blah blah blah I'm not returning, but no one cares about that. Probably not true anyway. Out of all of us someone is bound to come back here because the food honestly is good.

Hopefully you filter out your servers by then is all I have to say because I really wanna emphasize that this was the worst service I've ever witnessed.

Do yourself a favor and wait a bit until they switch out the wait staff or at least get on their butt over doing their jobs right. Again no problems with any other staff members, atmosphere, or food. We had our usual family get-together for my son's birthday. My son picked this restaurant for us to meet when none of us but my son had eaten there before when he lived close by. He chose it 3 weeks before our get together. I read the menu right away because he sent me a picture of it from Google maps and I fell in love with this place just by the picture of the inside of the restaurant. Then I realized that you serve cornbread before every meal and donuts at the end of every meal. I couldn't look any further in detail because I wanted to go the same day I looked at it and read about it.

We were there on a Sunday February 25th, 2024. I felt comfortable there the minute I walked in the door and was greeted so kindly. I brought an ice cream cake and asked them to put it in the freezer for me and they jumped on it. I asked them if they sang Happy Birthday and they said no but let the server know when we're ready for it and then it would take about 10 minutes for them to bring it out.

I was late because I couldn't get on the freeway from Apache Junction to get there in 20 minutes, due to 60 West being closed for construction, so they took care of showing me to the table when I didn't know where table 18 was on the diagram they showed me up front.

Ali was our server and she was one of the best servers I've had at all the restaurants we always go to! 😃 Not too long after I got there and joined the rest of the family it got really busy and very loud, which is normal for any restaurant in the middle of the afternoon on the weekend. My point of this is that Ali still kept up with everybody's needs and questions and anything that any of us asked for she was on it immediately. It briefly slowed down when we were getting ready to pack up and leave. She was grabbing the containers to bring leftovers home in the cabinet right next to our table, so I talked to her for a moment and I really liked her as a person too right away. I asked her if there was any way to give her a good review and she mentioned this, which reminded me that this is the best place to leave reviews for restaurants because a lot of people do the same and read these reviews.

I've already told as many people as I've talked to since then how great your restaurant, food , and service is and highly recommend it! 🤠 I even gave my neighbors across the street a sample of the ribs to try and they plan on going there now too. Before I wrote this I saw a review about the original restaurant in Phoenix and I have to agree that there's no way you can tell how great it is inside the restaurant from the outside of the building. It's really amazing and such a nice and pleasant surprise the minute you walk in toward the front door. On our way out we had to stop right away, because I noticed that they were about to take pictures where there was a very cute and well done display sitting at the entrance to the front door. I wondered what it was there for when I got there, but then there were a whole bunch of cute little girls lined up sitting there for pictures.. so cute and adorable. UPDATE Spoke to another manager and they were completely just un =-responsive and did not even put forth the effort to right the wrong situation. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and here we are disappointed AGAIN. UPDATE

I had high expectations for Bobby Q’s in Mesa, especially since I wanted to treat my parents, who were visiting from out of town, to a nice meal. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what I had hoped for and left me feeling disappointed and frustrated.

One of the biggest issues was the reservation process, which seemed completely pointless. We made a 5:45 PM reservation, expecting to be seated promptly. Instead, we were left waiting until 6:40 PM—nearly an hour later. If reservations do not guarantee a table at the scheduled time, what is the point of making one? Walk-ins were being seated at a similar pace, making it clear that reservations are not prioritized.

When we were finally seated, our party of five was placed at a table meant for four, and we were simply told to “pull up a chair.” This lack of proper accommodation was frustrating, especially given that the restaurant had advance notice of our party size. It felt unprofessional and unprepared.

The food, unfortunately, did not redeem the experience. The Caesar salad tasted as if it was made with straight mayonnaise, rather than a proper dressing. The rib tips were 50% fat, making them chewy, greasy, and nearly inedible. For the amount spent, I expected fresh, high-quality barbecue, not what felt like leftover trimmings and store-bought sides.

I wanted this to be a special meal for my parents, but instead, it was a letdown. Tonight was simply not good at all and a complete waste. While the ambiance was nice, it does not make up for the poor service, lack of organization, and subpar food quality.

I will not be coming back to chance it again. Hopefully, others have a better experience, but based on tonight, it was a big disappointment.
