We love Charley's cheesesteaks and usually have very delicious food at this location. There are occasionally some shy employees, but for the most part it's a good group of people working there. Our food is always hot and fresh. The condiment area could sometimes use some attention (the ketchup dispenser, salt packets and napkins are sometimes empty). Sometimes it's hard to find a clean table as well. As far as the atmosphere goes... it's on a busy corner inside Walmart, so you kind of feel like you're sitting there eating in front of EVERYONE. It would be nice if there was some sort of barrier between you and everyone leaving Walmart. It would also be nice if there was some sort of indicator on where to stand when waiting to place your order... maybe add a barrier between the seating and order counter because people tend to just line up into the table area, which means less seating in an already crowded little restaurant.
UPDATE from a visit in December 2023: We visited Charley's on Christmas Eve. Nowhere in the store did we see a sign with the store hours for that day. We placed our order, paid, then were told by the clerk that they would be closing in ten minutes. Thinking that we would have a few minutes to eat our food, we got our drink and sat down. The clerk brought our food to us and said they were closing, so we had to leave (by our calculations, there was still five minutes left from the ten minutes left when the clerk told us). At the same time, another worker started turning chairs over and SLAMMING them on top of the tables very rudely. We tried to ask the worker who brought our food to us for utensils to eat the saucy boneless wings with, but the other gal was slamming the chairs down so loudly that he couldn't hear us, so we just took our food and left. We were able to find an outdoor table at nearby Panera Bread to eat our food at while it was still (sort of) warm, but without utensils... and only two napkins that they provided us with, it was very messy and not that pleasant. After that incident, we've vowed not to visit that location again. And, that's sad because it used to be so good... and because the Charley's (inside Superstition Springs Mall) closer to our new home seems to be closed more than it's open. We used to be VERY LOYAL customers of Charley's, but not anymore. :(
UPDATE from a visit in December 2024: Well, we gave in and had Charley's again (almost a year later) and the service was much better. The guy who took our order was very friendly. Our food was ready pretty quickly. AND, we weren't kicked out, nor did we encounter any rude people turning chairs over and slamming them on the tables. We had a nice, pleasant, delicious meal. We don't live as close to this Charley's as we used to, so it's a special trip for us to have it. And, the one in the mall that was much closer to where we live really did close. We're still not loyal customers anymore, but they are starting to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time at a Charleys in years and was so excited. Didn't realize until I got home that they got my order completely wrong, wasn't even something I could eat. stuff happens so no biggie I just wanted to get my order. By the time I was home they were closed so I went back the next day with my receipt and the manager was extremely mean. She told me I was lying and had eaten the sandwich. She said there was nothing she could do since I didn't bring it back the night before but they were closed and I literally couldn't. She told me she was there until 11 cleaning and that I should have tried anyways. How is a customer suppose to know that you're there 2 hours after close?? She told me I should have called that night but I did and it just endlessly rang! The manager with the bullet hole tattoos on her neck is the nastiest person I've ever met and she should not be in customer service. I literally had a panic attack inside the Walmart because she was so rude and accused me of lying. Edit: the manager reluctantly told me after causing a scene that she would make me the sandwich but I was crying and shaking so hard that it was humiliating so I had to leave. I am not a Karen by any means and don't feel I deserved to be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe cashier who took my order was delightfully helpful and pleasant to deal with. Kudos to him. The good things about this place end there. They got my to go order wrong but when I came back, they refused to make it right. I tried calling, but the phone number seems to go to an abandoned voicemail. When I came back to make things right, again the cashier was friendly and helpful, but the manager came out to tell me to get lost, and she was extremely rude and unprofessional. I get that customer service and food service is a tough job, but to completely fail at it this badly is a different story. The manager implied I was a liar and she would not make my order right. I get that mistakes happen, but if you get an order wrong, just make it right and move on. You don't tell a customer they're lying to get free food, especially when you're the one who is getting people's orders wrong. This manager does not belong in customer service,...
