Filiberto's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Mesa

If I could leave a zero I would. Had a very unpleasant experience this evening. I've been coming here and other locations for over 18 years. I ordered 5 rolled tacos as always, only to have the lady at the window, Star be very rude and snarky saying there is 3 ways to order this and which way do I want them. I told her for the 5 rolled taco order only shows one way on the menu. She snarkily told me the 3 ways and I picked one. Then when I got to the drive thru window she said maybe you dont care about other peoples lives, but I do and you need to wear a mask when coming to the window, and there is a sign on the menu. I told her I've never been asked that in a drive thru, and I didnt see the sign as I hadnt really payed attention to the menu as I knew what we were going to order. I tried to tell her I didnt know, but she had handed me my money and shut the window in my face. I am all for wearing masks, and wear masks everywhere I go, and would have definately of worn one if I knew drive throughs were requiring them now. She basically tossed the food at me after that and shut the window in my face. At that point I wasnt even sure if we had all the food as she didnt say anything like that was it, or thank you. We were checking the bags. She then opened the window and was very rude again and said do you need something. I told her I wasnt sure if that was it because she didnt say anything, and that I wanted a refund and didnt feel comfortable keeping the food after how she was being maybe she did something to it. She slammed the window in my face and said they were closed. I was knocking on the window and telling her I wanted my money back. I parked and walked up to the front window and knocked and she refused. I ultimately had to call the police so I could get the refund, as there was no way I was eating that, and no way any business who would employ such a nasty rude person was getting my money. I got a refund and she said she wanted me trespassed for not even doing anything. I will definately be contacting management, and will definately not be returning to this property to eat ever unless she is not working there. I have never had such a horrible experience, and never in my 18 years of adulthood has anyone at any business ever treated me that way or even close. After all that, one if the employees threw away the food we had ordered, and she had the nerve to say why did you throw that away, I could have taken that home. Really, the one who was so worries about me having a mask in the drive through in my own car, wants to take home the food to eat that I had in my car and had touched. What a joke. They will definately be loosing a long time customer, and most likely other customers as well because noone in their right mind would pay to be...

I do delivery for a side hustle and have seen and smelled a lot of different foods. When you've got a mexican fast food craving Filibertos is the answer. The two menu items from Filibertos that I've delivered the most are their beef rolled tacos and carne asada fries. Here's my experiences. I've had their rolled tacos many times before and have never been disappointed. Just a right amount of crunch from the shell with the shredded meaty center with melted cheese and creamy guacamole and sweet sour cream. Hits the spot everytime. The lettuce in my opinion is just for show. Their carne asada fries are another thing. After all the deliveries I decided to try these myself for the first time tonight. When I opened the box I was pleasantly surprised. There was a VERY generous portion of food for a decent price. I don't know how many ounces of meat they put on it, but I couldn't see the fries or much of anything else! That's what I'm talking about! After a little "digging" through the mound of meat, I eventually found the french fries, cheese, sour cream and guacamole. Definitely needed a fork and a drink to help put this down. The fries were how I liked them. Not soggy or too crunchy. A soft center with a crunchy outside. And a very generous serving as well. I guess the only thing to make them better with flavor would be to add jalepenos or bacon. Maybe both? I think these may be add ons. Maybe next time. In all my years of trying to find "feel good" foods, Filibertos will be seeing me...

My ol lady and i take an uber to this place at 3am to grab some late night food and order the #2 burrito with taco combo to go right. I then ask if we could sub the burrito to make it a California style and the lady was very nice and said yes w we can do it but there'll be an up charge. That's fine, no biggie. Get home and the burrito wasn't right. It was an Arizona style and not a California but it's late we're tired so i tell my gf not to trip we'll call tomorrow when we woke up and wasn't drunk/tired. So she calls and ask to speak with a manager and the lady who answers says well i can help you I'm a manager. So the ol lady explains what's going on and the lady "manager " says well there's nothing i can do you'll have to call back tomorrow and talk to Juan because we have no manager working right now! What? So you are telling me that i have to wait and call back another day for you guys to fix a mistake that you made! ? Crazy. And she lied saying she was a boss. We never called back, said forget it. And we love Filiberto's been but will now take our business elsewhere. It was rude and disrespectful and that's not how you treat loyal customers....
