I used to like this place, and came here almost every day with my friends during our lunch hour. However, the last two times we've been, we've been kicked out.

The first time, the baristas and presumed owner gossiped about us the whole time we were there, one of them (the one with the bangs) saying that she was "tired of babysitting us" (we're almost adults, don't need you to "babysit us", and haven't disrupted business at all + other students have come here without issue). Then, when we were about to leave, the owner came up to us and said that this, "isn't a place to hang out," despite a couple of us buying something, and told us to leave, even though other people had been there for hours, doing the exact same thing as us.

The second time (today), we decided to come back as a test, and as a farewell to their, admittedly, good sodas/other products. There was no barista at the counter, and almost all of us were going to order, so we were just waiting there (not very good service). Then, the owner came out again and told us that we were never welcome here again, that we were "disrespectful", targeting my Black friend specifically and saying he kicked the door?? He used his foot to open the door, is all.

This, sadly, is not a new occurrence here. They've (barista with the bangs) been rude to him and only him in the past, and none of the rest of us until these two instances.

Don't go here unless you're okay with a rude, discriminatory worker and owner (with other passive ones doing nothing about it, despite being generally nice to us previously) who apparently discourage willing customers. Because they've just lost 5+ with...

Nice cozy place, great atmosphere and furniture. This place was clean and neat and the staff was inviting. I stopped in to for a nice place after a long day looking for to get some work done and relax. I asked to borrow th restroom key, and was invited to make my order first. Slowing the situation and unprepared, I advise her to give me some time to review the menu. I settle on a smoothie and was advised the flavors could not be mixed due to the concentrate juice mixing. My attendant was not too quick to advise a substitute to my surprise. I settle on my personal go to at every cafe, iced coffee w/little cream. Pay for my order smile take the key with the silicon spoon and am off to relax and finish my day. The restroom toilet was not functional with a loose leaf letter explaining the problem. Wash my hands , leave the restroom, I return the key , grab my coffee still needing to relieve myself. Much to my dismay my coffee shots have been burned. I realize I ordered an ice coffee and understand there are several different methods and each cafe is different. These shots unfortunately were burned and strained of flavor. I stick to stevia in, sit and continue with my day. To my surprise, the barista hands off the key to some lady who walked in without ordering. The whole ordeal was upsetting and not worth the five bucks i spent for what should have been a great experience. I just moved to Mesa from another part of Phoenix metro. Not impressed, stools and layout...

The coffee is great. I just bulk ordered 5 pounds as I have a machine at home and this coffee is worth it. Victor the owner or manager? Was able to really fix my issue with my bulk order and was really accommodating to my needs so I appreciate that!

However... the barista with the dark hair and glasses is always so incredibly rude. I have been going to this location for YEARS and I have never had an issue. She just makes me feel like I'm an inconvenience and it just makes me not want to go back. Hence why I ordered online vs buying in the store. I went into today though to meet with a friend and same energy from the same barista. My friend said that barista gave her the same dismissive attitude and rolled her eyes when she asked for a cup of water with her coffee. Like I get we all have life and stressed outside of work but I just dont understand the rudeness. I've gone to this location at least 10 times in the past few months to either buy some iced coffee or beans and each time I see her I almost want to turn around and go elsewhere and thats not fair considering I love this place. But its getting tarnished by a single person's rude attitude. Idk, I...

My daughter and I stopped here on the way home from the Post Office because we couldn't find a Starbucks. Wow am I glad there wasn't one anywhere around because this place is AMAZING!! It's a very small coffee house with low lighting and comfy couches/chairs, along with a few high tables. It looks like they sell coffee, smoothies, pastries and ice cream. There very well could be more but that's what we saw. I told the Batista that we'd never been before and asked what she'd recommend for Iced Coffee. She asked me a few questions and per my answers said she could make a cinnamon but iced latte. My daughter ordered an Ice Caramel Macchiato. We also go two Brownies. Let me tell you, I took one drink of my iced latte and wish I had purchased the large size because it is so incredibly good!! From this day forward I'll be buying my coffee from this establishment when I'm within 10 miles of it. Not to mention it's incredibly well priced and you can't beat delicious and inexpensive. I'd HIGHLY recommend this place to any coffee lover in the Valley. Extra thank you to the delightful Batista who has now gotten us addicted.

Everyone who follows my reviews knows how much I like coffee, and in Phoenix I sing the praises to Lux Central, But this is Mesa Baby, and the sophisticated local coffee connoisseurs can enjoy a master barrister's own local legend here at The Lost Dutchman's Coffee House, near the Center Street Light Rail Train Stop. By the looks of their richly appointed cabinetry and wood benches for the tables; with modern health department certified sanitary food preparation areas working perfectly amidst a rustic old time ambience of a nineteenth century gold miner's watering hole,: It makes me wonder if they actually found the Lost Dutchman's Mine, and spent it on opening this fabulous coffee shop, and local social meeting place. I LIKE IT!

I used to come here all the time in high school since my school was close by. I tried coffee for the first time here and their mocha will always be my favorite. They're always playing new calming music and every interaction I've had with the staff has been positive. The vibe is emaculate and it's a great place to study. Despite being in the oppostie direction of my college, I still find myself coming back here from time to time, and it never disapoints. Plus; I LOVE their pumpkin bread!
