We came here tonight to celebrate my wife’s birthday. There’s a certain plate she loves, and that is her usual birthday request. As our party of four was walking in, there were two hosts. I was in the back of our group and whispered to the host that it was my wife’s birthday. His response? “Tell your server.” That would not be possible while maintaining the element of surprise. So, I whispered to the next host and he nodded his acknowledgment. The meal was exceptional as always. I was waiting for the server to do their birthday presentation at our table. It never came. As we were walking out, I asked to speak to a manager. I told her what happened, and I thought this was very poor customer service. She asked me if I wanted some ice cream to go. I declined. I then went and spoke to the second host and asked what happened. He told me that he informed our server. The manager was standing there and simply stated that she was sorry and said she would talk to the server and the first host. This was poorly, poorly handled, and we will never be back. There are plenty of other restaurants in town. I have given this exact restaurant great reviews before. I will retract them. I hope the general manager sees this and contact me. I do not want anything for free. I want this staff to be trained in customer service. Update: one year later, we returned from my wife’s birthday. Our server was great! He anticipated our every need and have great recommendations. Place is very clean and the food was...
Read moreThis is reviewing the Superstition Springs Blvd,/US 60/Power Rd location. Wish I could leave ZERO ⭐! We had 1 napkin & 1 fork & knife (no spoon). I had to ask 2x in the 10 minutes between his 2nd & 3rd spots at our table. Then, the server brought the wrong sides with my meal. I advised of this, and he said, "There's nothing I can do. It's already on your plate." Seriously? Sure you can. Get me the tortilla soup I ordered and either take the beans and rice back (how much were they ... $2?) Or leave them. Now, my food is cold! It was your bad! You just set my plate in front of me when I told you. We've been to 2 other Macayo's (used to go to Dobson / Baseline every Cinco de Mayo for years!) and never had such crappy service. The food was pretty bland here as well. It's a shame as this location is 5 miles from home vs Dobson being 11 miles. Will never go back to this location!
6-14-25, as of today NO contact from the District Manager that we were advised would contact us to speak about the situation. A DISTRICT MANAGER that doesn't follow up when his assistant does reach out to advise he will... Very sad. Maybe there's been a change in the District Manager position? Either way, forgotten guest concerns indicate they have most likely failed to resolve the issues. Well just continue to take it...
Read moreMy husband & I were running errands yesterday & our a/c went out so we decided to stop in to cool down & have amazing Mexican food. The waiter that seated us was very friendly & attentive even closed the blinds for me because he heard me say to my husband that i would prefer to not sit in the sun. When the waitress Sammy (that is the name on the check) finally came she wasnt happy or smiling & gave me a disgusted look while taking my drink order, like she was being inconvenienced. She was very nice to my husband. When she was walking away , i said oh yeah, & chips & salsa. She barked to me " I havent gotten to that yet! " in a disrespectful meanacing tone. When she came back she slammed the drinks down on the table along with the item that holds the cheese crisp. All slammed down! I couldn't believe this was happening! I am recently retired but have spent 42 yrs in the resteraunt/management industry /retail/ customer service. That is not the way you treat customers. Especially when working for tips.Sammy made me feel unwelcome. Sammy did not treat my husband like that. I have been going to maccayos for 30 + yrs .& the food is Always amazing! The first time at this location. I live in the scottsdale/ pv area. I am very...
