I think their menu could use work and do a better job of showing all the options as well as what comes with everything. For example, the longer we talked with the employee, the more meat options there seemed to be, including ones that weren’t on the menu. Adding a clearer menu would be great, especially if there are miscommunications.
I asked if every entree came with rice and beans and was told yes, so I ordered mini chimis. As she packaged them, I noticed she didn’t add rice and beans (I think they didn’t come with the quesadilla either). She then said that not everything came with rice and beans like she said. That was frustrating as I had chosen what to order based on the knowledge that everything came with rice and beans. Adding a side of rice and beans was $5! I got a heaping scoop of each put in the same bowl. In the end the rice tasted like soap and the black beans were flavorless, so I didn’t even eat my $5 side of rice and beans. Also, speaking of what comes with meals, the picture shows the chimis coming with pico, but when I asked, she hadn’t put any in the box. She packaged some up to go but it was odd to me that she didn’t originally include it. I think she said that it came with cream cheese instead of sour cream? Which is odd. Also odd that the tacos for example got to choose any toppings they wanted from the toppings bar, but not the chimis. If the chimis were on the appetizers section of a menu, for example, these differences would make more sense, which is why I think they need a clearer menu.
The food reviews were a mixed bag. 3 out of 6 had no complaints about their entrees, although it would’ve been hard to mess up a quesadilla. Burrito was big. Some of the meats we got were incredibly salty. Some of the lettuce was brown. The chimichanga meat was dry, tough, and chewy, probably from the fryer.
They have a salsa bar but no chips. They have a large salsa selection and all of the salsa leans on the spicy side. I was surprised that so many things were made to order, including the taco shell for the taco salad. That was cool (although it may have been nice to give a few seconds for all the oil to drain before adding the salad). So the way that the meats, beans, rice, and toppings are laid out it’s like a chipotle, but they will add the meat to the grill to warm it/fry stuff fresh like I said. And not everything available is on the menu, which is why I think a clearer menu and more signage would be helpful.
I tried to send these constructive notes to the email on the website before posting this review, but the email...
Read moreI'd like to start off by saying that the food is Good. Has alot of flavor, and full of taste. But overall presentation is not too appealing. The presentation is to dull with not much consideration on detail. Most of the food on the steam table looks like 4 hours dry on top (should be mixed like every now and then to keep the top from building Bacteria and make sure the overall food stays hot for consumption). I also ordered an Horchata and was asked by the employee to get my own ice from the soda machine. After trying the Horchata i can break down the taste to the fallowing ingredients (not real Horchata) made from Horchata Powder and mixed with milk and a hint of vanilla. Extremely sweet since the container which it came from was not mixed or blended before it was served. Most of the ingredients had sank to the Bottom of the serving container, which i got all of the powdery substance in my cup. Like i mentioned the food has taste, and has potential to be greater by improving its presentation. In one plate i was only given about 4 or 5 chips which can be improved. I would recommend serving a side salad to add color to the...
Read moreFirst and last visit! I told her that I don't want hot spicy. I told her I was torn between a chicken enchilada and a chicken quesadilla and asked what one she recommended that wouldn't be too spicy. She said the red sauce wasn't hot and recommended the enchilada. I get my food and go home. I'm diabetic and took my medicine before sitting down to eat. One bite and instantly my mouth is on fire! I drank some milk and taste a little of the chicken it's spicy and very salt but that wasn't where the real heat was. I dip my fork in the sauce and it is spicy it's hot but there was still more heat than what I was tasting. I dig through the enchilada and there are chili's inside! So why do that to someone that doesn't want spicy? I can't eat this! I had already taken my medicine for my diabetes so I have to eat before my blood sugar bottoms out. I call the number on my receipt it's busy. I call the number on the website and no one would answer. After a few minutes of it ringing someone answered and immediately hung up! I am floored! Why would you do...
