Let me introduce myself…my name is Gina and my husband and I are visiting Texas for the first time. Upon our arrival by plane we then had a 2 hour drive ahead of us. Before making the drive we stopped at this location for breakfast being it was still 2 hours earlier in our heads. We were greeted by a lovely young woman who seated us and took our drink order…she was so sweet and I’m sorry I didn’t get her name so she could get credit as well. Sherry A. shortly showed up with cups and coffee…she very politely introduced herself and asked if we were ready to order. We placed our order and then she asked my husband if he wanted to add a topping to his hash browns. I started to pay attention because we have never been asked if we wanted to do anything different than what was on the menu. I thought to myself that this woman really knows her job and is good at it. After she had served us I decided to have a conversation with her and found that she was very sweet and I complemented her and asked if the manager was on site. She told me yes of course and I asked her if she wouldn’t mind asking them to come see me. Minutes later Loretta came out greeting people and taking a minute to speak with her regulars. She made her way over and I invited her to sit and we chatted for a bit. I told her that I really enjoyed Sherry and her service. Hats off to this location!!!! I’m so glad we didn’t go into the Waffle House. This location is friendly ☑️ knowledgeable ☑️ clean ☑️ food was hot and made to order ☑️ food was served quickly and was delicious ☑️ Loretta took the time to speak with me and that to me screams valuable! I just want to thank these ladies for making our first visit to Texas an awesome one and I hope the rest of the state welcomes...
Read moreMy lady and I went here after grabbing her from work so about 3a. The floor was excess water from mopping. The signs were down but no. The tables were also wiped and excess of water left behind on the table noticeably. We both could tell the water wasn't fresh to wipe down because it smelled sour. The salt shakers hadn't been wiped down because food was on top of the ones at our table. The young lady seemed as if she was irritated about whatever it was we had nothing to do with. Your the server it's noted. We've been 3 times this week. She serves my lady coffee. I water with lemon. Next time automatically put the lemons on a saucer not in the water. Lemons carry germs. Even if they don't specify. I order the Cobb salad and my lady breakfast. We get our food and the cook was on point with that. That salad I picked most of the salad out because it wasn't fresh. It was a disaster but salvaged what was left of it. Never assume anyone wants ranch. There are choices. The young lady comes back and says give me your cup to refill the coffee and my lady was like oook.... at that point we started discussing her tip. Keep in mind we the only ones in there. Me at that point I don't want to see you unless there's another server. The foods we're ok the salad was not fresh and service was just ok. We both work graveyard so we know how things can be. But in service your held to a higher point. You determine your tip. She gave her $4 and I know we tip way more than $4. We figured she didn't want to work so that's not even gas. But the cook made that breakfast like a grandmother. Thank you...
Read moreTalk about a turn around!! The good management is back and the restaurant is back to being the comfort food and comfortable place that we remember. We noticed it when we walked in. The hostess actually smiled and pleasantly greeted us. It continued to our waitress who introduced herself politely and genuinely offered us juice, tea or coffee instead of just asking "whatcha drinkin?" Our food was served timely, wasn't cold and tasted well. We were tickled that clearly the portion sizes were also corrected. The new menu with the increased prices are just par for the new norm, but without the great service that we received we would have just added going to this restaurant to our list of things we are scaling back on. So as we wrapped up our meal to pay for our ticket, our cashier continued the experience showing that she's a happy person (so rare these days). We finally just asked, "Is this place under new management?" She replied, "Well, yes our great manager is back." We agreed a good team is evident and clearly due to her leadership. I never write these reviews but... this time it is such a refreshing change for today's norm that I followed through. The team that were lead by the GM (Great Manager) Loretta were, Christa (hostess), LeJessica (waitresss), Ida (Cashier). Great job Loretta!! I'm glad that Denny's Corp. made it worth your while to come back. Denny's at this location can again be comfort food in a...
