Miami Eats & Drinks Guide: Everything You Need in One Post!

I first visited Gitano Miami in 2021 and could not wait to come back. I had a birthday dinner there this year that was so special and memorable. Last night I stopped in to have dinner and it was another culinary delight. I started with a Ginger Mock tail made by Fernando that was so good and many surprises to follow. The Lobster Tostada was amazing and the Guac was so tasty that followed. Next I was surprised when the yummy Watermelon & Tomato Salad came out in an actual Ice Bowl. How Good? The passion fruit sorbet mixed on top made this my favorite salad I have ever had! Delicious. The Pork I had after the salad melted in my mouth and couldn’t stop thinking about it today. The Branzino in banana leaf is the best- I didn’t put my fork down until every bit was devoured. The fresh tortillas and the salsa verde I love as well. As if I didn’t already have enough culinary excitement the warm Valrhona chocolate molten cake with ice cream was placed in front of me and even though it couid be shared I enjoyed every last bite:). Besides the super friendly incredible staff that make the meal so enjoyable, you can taste the true passion of the chef and staff that goes into the entire meal. This is truly such a special place.

The food is wonderful ! The rest is a mixed bag. As others have already reviewed; it's tapas with a gastronomy tilt. Firstly, is the menu....which has spartan, incomplete and/or misleading descriptions. One example is the "Hammock Greens" salad. To most diners, a description that includes "Artisan Sourdough Bread" would indicate bread? But, what actually arrives is a salad with Artisan bread crumbs? This is a pattern with their menu and you must quiz your server extensively to get the whole story about the dishes. Then there's the food arrival spacing. When seated our server let us know that "Food Arrives When It's Ready". It’s a way for kitchens with limited resources to make sure they don’t get too slammed. Ok, got it. But here's the thing....they have a lasagna on the menu that takes 25-30 minutes to prepare. If you're eating with a group of people and you order the lasagna; everyone else will have finished their meals and moved onto dessert before you even get a fork-full? As a final reminder...these are tapas portions but with full entree prices. So if you're used to pushing back from the table with a full belly; be prepared for a sizable bill.

DINING GITANO. The food is average, not so much variety in the menu. The meal is tasty but extremely salty, I was drinking several glasses of water when I arrived home. Stomachage the day after. Prices are high for this type of quality; you pay for being in Collins Av. The waiter (Anthony) brought us a wonderful service. I requested in my reservation to have a nice detail or surprise for my husband, they didn’t care and didn’t even mentioned. The restaurant focus in having a lot of people, but not quality. It’s very unorganized with the reservations. Decoration is nice, vintage style and cool. Total amount spent $205. DRINKS ROOF TOP. Prices kind of high. Makers Mark Whiskey $25, wine around $18 per glass. The waitress Wendy was wonderful with us. I made a reservation and the table that they gave us was outside. It was very cold and extremely windy. I asked the manager to sit inside, he told me that I can sit in one of the sofa but not for too long because they had another reservation. So, I assumed that my reservation wasn’t too important. Total amount spent $200 only in a few drinks and something else. Gratuity is included. LIVING ROOM: After being in the roof top and Gitano, we crossed the Street to go to the LIVING; same Faena. I made a reservation the day before, they didn’t find my reservation and they were very rude. They didn’t allow us to get in because was full. Some other group of people arrived and they said they new someone inside and they had “a friend”, with no reservation they took them inside; even though was full. There is not curfew time, this was last 12am.

My perception: Faena treat you nice if you are “the friend of a friend”. Very unorganized with reservations in Gitano restaurant, the rooftop...

From the very first moment, this restaurant sets itself apart. The space is beautifully maintained, with an atmosphere that strikes the perfect balance between elegance and warmth. Even parking is convenient thanks to the Pay by Phone 📲 system an effortless start to what would be a seamless experience.

The service deserves its own spotlight: our server was, without exaggeration, one of the finest in all of Miami. Thank Carlos ! You are the best … Attentive, thoughtful, and genuinely passionate about hospitality, his suggestions and care elevated the entire evening. This level of dedication is rare and shows that the restaurant values not only its cuisine but the complete dining journey.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

The manager’s thoughtful gesture of congratulating my husband for his birthday was another touch that made the evening even more memorable.❤️💫

For lunch or dinner all is out of chain .. , I opted for the Miami Spice menu, which is not only attractively priced but also remarkably well curated. The chilaquiles were perfectly balanced, the mango and passionfruit cake was bright and refreshing extremely smooth and the caprese toast showcased simplicity done right yummy! Each dish carried both technique and heart.

The experience doesn’t end at the table. After dining, it is a delight to explore the hotel’s décor, linger in its inviting spaces, and extend an already exquisite evening.

In short, this is a place where service, cuisine, and atmosphere unite flawlessly a must-visit in Miami.

I'd been here awhile back for a beer tasting event on their rooftop, so I stopped by this afternoon after a bit of late afternoon tanning on the 35th street beach. Their dishes had a lot more heat than the late summer sun. This was one of the spiciest Mexican restaurants I've eaten at, and that was before biting into a habanero!

Madison my server was on point with attentive service and wonderful recommendations (since some dishes had run out). Even then, they went above & beyond. I will have to come back and try that pork chop I had my eye on though!

I was came right from the beach so I sat on their sunset patio catching the great views of the sunset toward Indian Creek as well as Collins Avenue street life. The terrace is lush with lots of greenery.

My chips - no guac of course - were crisp and not excessively greasy. They did bring some salsa verde to amp up the heat. Similarly hot and flavorful was their Pollo al Pibil. Pulled chicken seasoned with achiote, garlic and habanero pepper, along with a side of chipotle potatoes made this one of the hottest meals I have enjoyed.

As I mentioned prior, thinking it was a sweet pepper I inadvertently bit into the habanero garnishing my "Kisses in the Car" cocktail (Cruzan Rum & Del Maguey Mezcal). Supposedly milk is the best cure, and their strawberry & brown sugar paletas (not on the menu but ask for dessert) will soothe the burn and satisfy your...
