This restaurant could be so much. The food was so close to being amazing. We got a lasagna and a chicken Parmesan. The lasagna was good but was lacking a sauce. It was overall just meat and cheese. It felt like the sauce from the meat sauce got cooked out of the actual fresh pasta. The chicken Parmesan was good in taste. The side of pasta with the red sauce was sadly the best thing we ate that entire night. The fried artichokes were a very close second, those two items were incredible. The chicken was breaded and tasted borderline stale. Almost as if the chicken Parmesan was waiting on my lasagna. The hostess was a great help, I would even add that she was more heads up than management. She was pleasant and I felt like she was worried about our experience.
The service side is the part that was really an awful experience. We sat and waited for 12-13 minutes before being noticed. Management came over and offered to get us an order and we got our appetizers and our drinks. Just a couple cokes. A few moments later we had a waiter come up with pen and paper and just ask us “What would you like to order?”. Maybe I’m crazy to think that an introduction would be nice. Maybe recommendations. But nothing of that sort, we told him we had already ordered and he stormed off. He seemed confused and borderline frustrated. I don’t think management was on the same page as him. The appetizers came out. She brought bread first and then our artichokes and a caprese came out. We hadn’t gotten drinks before our apps. Then our drinks and a new server came out to help. The waiter was nice and pleasant and took the drinks from the manager that ended up waiting on us. Then he was gone. Another 15 minutes before we saw someone again. Appetizers were completely finished and we set the plates to the tables edge. Then we finally got our dinner orders, didn’t wait too long. The server very awkwardly kept checking on us, he seemed very confused the entire time. Maybe communication was just awful. But he was no longer pleasant and seemed frustrated as well. He delivered our food and then we ate and only got touched once with our food in front of us in 20 minutes before we asked for our check.
The check was the last issue. The manager was oblivious to our frustrations. We asked about the automatic gratuity since we were waited on by a manager and didn’t really have service from a server except for our drinks being poured and food being ran. He never really waited on us. Her initial response said that it would go to the server and my significant other said that he didn’t deserve it, I second that opinion. Then she awkwardly said “then it goes to me”. So we agreed that as long as it goes to her then it’s fine. But we don’t believe that we should be required to pay a gratuity if the service was really awful all around. When we saw her again she brought a new check and said she took the 20% gratuity off. She did not. She took 20% of the food off. I respect her protecting her employees money. But they didn’t earn that tip. It just left a really bad taste in my mouth.
We left without saying anything about the bill. The manager should’ve done more. But it was like talking to a brick wall. She just could not understand that we were not happy. So our frustration built up to a point that we left before saying anything rude. Her attitude got her what her best outcome was. Which was for us to leave without much damage to her end. Her server still got paid for our table. She only missed out on a small discount to the food. But we won’t come back. Hope nobody else has to go through that.
I also want to add in that the restaurant was only 35-50% full. And the table behind had a server at their beck and call the entire night. Just feels bad being an...

Read more⭐ Donna Mare – Where the Meat is Meh and the Vibe is “Why Am I Here?” 🥩🤷♂️🍝
Came in expecting Italian luxury dining with “chophouse” attitude. Left feeling like I had just attended a PTA meeting catered by a confused airline. ✈️🍽️😵
The steak? Oh, it was well done… emotionally. Physically? It came out looking like it needed therapy and a second chance at life. 🥩💔🪦 I asked for medium rare, and they brought me something between "shoe leather" and "burnt apology."
The pasta? Oh, you mean the bowl of regret covered in marinara? 🍝 I’ve had more flavor in the emergency rations from a hurricane kit.
The ambiance? Picture this: dim lighting, loud voices, and that lovely aroma of overpriced disappointment with a hint of truffle oil that tasted like regret. 🕯️💸😭 The music was like a DJ fell asleep on an iPad at an Olive Garden in 2012.
The service? Let’s just say our server had the enthusiasm of a sleep-deprived sloth on a smoke break. 🦥☕ At one point, I wondered if I had to DM the kitchen on Instagram to get another bread basket.
And the prices? Ah yes, because nothing says “authentic Italian dining” like paying $48 for “grass-fed filet” that tasted like it grazed on cardboard and broken dreams. 💵🍽️📉
Conclusion? Donna Mare? More like Donna Meh. If overpriced blandness in a dramatic setting is your thing, go ahead. Otherwise, do your taste buds a favor and just microwave a frozen lasagna while wearing Gucci — same vibe, less...
