CAO Bakery Alton Road Miami Beach
Really bad service
Like every CAO Bakery they start great but then they let the business go down the drain because of service. Even though they consistently deliver great food; the service falls short from under the bar. The employee at the counter that helped me around 7:00 pm on September 01, 2022 was just waiting for the last hour to pass so that she can close and leave. It seems to me that the team gets no training whatsoever in customer service and that is absolutely poor management. I must point that out because the same thing happened at their location in North Miami, which is sad considering that they have so many years managing bakeries in Miami. You can have a good concept in food, decor and atmosphere but if your team members don’t even know what a smile is and continue to treat their best clients like if they were doing them a favor; sooner or later your doors will permanently close. They offer a rewards program that as a frequent client I’m still waiting to understand how it works and how we can all benefit from it, especially during such difficult times. I can go on and on to build a list of small details that can damage their reputation and eventually hurt their business. If I continue to get treated like my life don’t matter, I will definitely stop coming here. As a recap, the warm atmosphere that the CAO family says that they offer should start on training their team to provide the right service, including every single detail. If this is as they call the new generation of Cuban bakeries, I see no future for this great concept with poor service.

Read moreI worked at Cao Bakery in South Beach and on Saturday, January 20, I went to work at 9:00 am. (Time that the manager María Isabel asked me to) and when I arrived the manager made me go to her office and told me that the owner asked her to reduce the staff and since I was the last employee to enter, she have to fire me from work, but she wanted to hire me again when they needed people again. I told her that it didn't seem right to me that she fire me that way, making me go to work, but not letting me do my shift (in the schedule I had to work Saturday and Sunday) I told her that I thought the right thing was for her notify me in advance (so I can also look for another job) Also note that they didn’t give me the check on the corresponding day, so I went in the next few days to pick up my check and saw that there was another girl working, so I suppose they didn’t fire me due to staff reduction, but to incorporate to someone else, which seems very dishonest on the part of the company. Also note that at no time did they call me out for any bad behavior and on the contrary, they always told me that I was a contribution to the bakery, because I speak English, which the manager does not do and on different occasions she asked me for help to translate what the...
Read moreMy family and I visit this cafe few times a month and usually during the week for breakfast, the ladies that serve you during the week are very pleasant and have amazing customer service, the food is delicious and the place is clean; however and this is a big however to get to the managers attention: This past Sunday, February 9 I visited with my family because I was craving their delicious churrasco. The two ladies in the front were very inattentive and dismissive. The lady that took our order forgot my child’s fries and also got my husband and mines wrong. The place was dirty and unkept, then a young man came to the front and started swiping the floors, many tables were dirty with food crumbs and coffee stains, plus a dirty condiment station, but the two ladies I guess were too busy gossiping to care and help the young man. The time we spent there the young man welcomed and helped or directed every customer that came in while he was about front, including a very sympathetic senior gentleman that was asking him questions about desserts. All of that while swiping and the other two gossiping. It was a disappointing visit. From now on we will abstain from visiting during...
