tonight was the night, I had the pleasure of dining at one of the most unique fusion restaurants in the city, where Spanish and Italian cuisines blend seamlessly. The highlight of my visit was not just the food, but the remarkable service provided by our waiter, Santiago.
From the moment we were seated, Santiago's warm and engaging personality set a welcoming tone for the evening. He was knowledgeable about the menu, offering insights into the best dishes and the perfect wine pairings. His recommendations were spot-on, but the real showstopper of the night was the Seafood Paella.
As Santiago approached our table with the paella pan, the aroma itself was enough to draw every eye in the room. But it wasn’t just the smell—Santiago turned the serving of this dish into an unforgettable spectacle. With a theatrical flair, he expertly cracked the lobster right at our table, the shell pieces flying with precision as he skilfully avoided any mess. The performance was not only impressive but also incredibly engaging, adding an extra layer of excitement to our meal.
The paella itself was a masterpiece. Each spoonful was a taste of the ocean, with perfectly cooked rice imbued with the flavors of the sea. The seafood was fresh, and the saffron-laced rice had just the right amount of bite. Santiago’s skillful handling of the lobster ensured that it was tender and bursting with flavor, making it the star of the dish.
Throughout the meal, Santiago was attentive without being intrusive, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and personal touch. He checked on us regularly, refilled our glasses before they were empty, and shared anecdotes about the origins of the dishes, which enriched our dining experience.
In conclusion, this restaurant is a gem that offers not only a fusion of Spanish and Italian flavors but also an exemplary dining experience, thanks to the outstanding service by Santiago. It's rare to find a waiter who can truly elevate a meal into a memorable event, and Santiago did just that. I would highly recommend visiting this establishment not just for the delicious food but for the chance to...
Read moreRed flag 🚩-Can someone tell me or explain to me why this restaurant charge customers a Resort fee!!? Is this a legal fee? Or this restaurant is scamming their customers! To the owner of Españolita Miami: please! Show us proof that you guys are allowed to charge Resort fees to customers. After reading this review, if you decide to come here anyway, Please!!! Ask your server to tell you the price of the dishes you ordered so you won’t get a higher surprise charge on your bill. - we ordered a regular paella for 3 and on the menu the price was $110 but when we received our check, the paella was $160 😮 so please be very careful and make sure to double check with your server that you won’t get charged different amounts for the dishes you ordered. If you still want to come here after reading this review then ask your server for a table inside because outside the flies are insane, and these flies will land on your food, face, hands, head and it’s just disgusting 🤮 we had to ask our server to move us inside because we couldn’t eat trying to keep the flies away! Food is two stars ⭐️ because the paella was salty and the rice was way too mushy.- service is just one star ⭐️ because they were not honest about the price of the food. At other restaurants we have been the servers always tell us at front if what we ordered will cost different from the menu’s price! Atmosphere two stars ⭐️ because they have so many tables that makes it difficult to move around and the tables are so small that the dishes don’t fit on the table. This tables are designed for two people but they seat 4 or 5 people and it’s super uncomfortable and this just ruins the experience! Wow! And if you still want to come here to try this restaurant after you have read this review, I will think you are insane and you probably have enough money to throw away but not me, I will never come back here, I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone and I will follow up their reviews to hold them accountable! This restaurant has to stop 🛑 scamming their...
Read moreI am from Spain and have lived in western NY for years. We are visiting Miami and we thought it would be cute to have dinner in Española way in a place named Españolita. Despite their outrageous prices.
When we first got there we were welcomed by a table covered in bugs. They moved us inside despite us not complaining. Once inside, while I went to the bathroom, my husband ordered their mixed tapas $60 and a bottle of wine $88.
The bathroom was dirty and they had what I thought was a safety issue. The wire for the hand dryer was hanging right over the sink.
When I returned from the bathroom they brought the food. The croquetas tasted like the frozen Goya ones, the tortilla was dry and it looked like it had been either exposed to air for a long time or kept poorly covered in the fridge. The ham was not iberico nor serrano... It was mostly fat. The manchego cheese was so thing sliced and dry that seemed more like parmesan. Finally, the bread was also so thinly sliced that it would barely stay together as a slice and was soaked in some oil, definitely NOT olive oil.
As I was processing this ... I noticed the kitchen. The was a microwave on the floor, with a water case on top of it. Backpacks were hanging from the wall on top on the microwave. The meat slicer was on the counter next to the backpacks. As the cooks were cutting meat, shavings would fall on the floor behind the microwave and the freshly cut meat would touch the dirty backpack before going on the plate. I was grossed out since we were eating sliced foods ... On top of that, the was bread and other food on the floor and the floor and walls were clearly filthy.
Our waitress came over to take our order but I just asked for the check. She asked why so I told her and she called the manager who put his hands on his head when I simply pointed at the kitchen. He took pictures. Jimena, the waitress told us they would not be charging us.
The only good thing about this place was that Jimena was very nice...
