I stayed in this hotel a year ago (review posted) but now I have to say I CAN NOT RECOMMEND this place. What's worse management does not seem to care.||I got my room at 4 pm in the afternoon and it was mostly clean but very basic. I had to clean up for an event and then dinner with my boss. I turn on the shower ... ice cold. I run the shower water for a while ice cold. Try the sink ... ice cold. I tell the desk as I am running out for my events and they tell me it is my mistake the water is fine.||Next morning I get up to get dressed and the shower is ICE COLD. Run it for a good 10 minutes. ICE COLD. Tell the front desk and they said maintenance will check it out. Come back late afternoon and the same thing ... no hot water. I go to the desk and tell them I am VERY UNHAPPY - the experience is substandard. They say maintenance will be right there and the maintenance man comes to the front desk and walks me to my room. I cannot communicate with him because he only speaks Spanish and me English (after all it is Miami Beach).||He runs the shower on full blast for 15 minutes and gets it to tepid at best and says it is ok and leaves.||Next morning I ran it 20 minutes .... ICE COLD. I tell the front desk and they tell me there is nothing wrong (if you like ice cold showers).||The room is VERY basic. No charging ports. No plugs of any kind near the bed. One under the desk so you are climbing there to get a plug or you can put your electronics on the floor for the one other plug in the room. One chair in the room is hard plastic.||Lights minimal with the one next to bed a threeway blub mostly blown out. Room and bathroom shows general wear and tear.||There was some disgusting brown substance staining the top of the window curtain ... I did not want to know what it was. My room had a view of the alleyway and the building next door so you had to close the curtain at night unless you want people looking in.||The elevator to the Villa building requires a key card which most times would not read and you had to fiddle to get it to accept your floor request. It was not just me ... someone else got in the elevator and I saw them having the same problem. I told the desk ... answer ... you are doing it wrong. (I hold my card up to the reader and press the floor ... what else should I do?)||They charge you a $29 resort fee per night for beach towels (I am there on business and never saw the beach) but they do give you bottles of water. ||Breakfast is passable at best. Eggs luke warm, stone cold toast, bacon that looked like they forgot to cook it, individual pieces of fruit .... not worth the $29 resort fee in my book but it is included in the price.||Only redeeming element is the staff is friendly and acts concerned ... but no solutions. They told me on the day I was checking out they could move me to another room. When I asked on the prior days I was told that could only be done when the senior manager approved it and that person was not there at 5 pm the first day.||I wrote the senior manager to complain about my experience and never got an even "we are sorry" email.||I would say there are a lot of other moderate hotels in the South Beach/Miami Beach area. Do your own research and decide.||If you stay in this place ABSOLUTELY REFUSE a room on the front of the Villa building near Collins Avenue. The room I had this year was in that local and NO HOT WATER. Last year I was on the back of the building and I at least had hot water.||That was my...

We booked a 7 day stay at President Villa with a family of four (two teens) in end Oct 2024 through Booking.com with a small discount about 10 days in advance. Two large queen size beds, a small refridgerator and breakfast included. Our room was clean and free from problems. Maybe little low on water preasure on the third floor. As stated, room is not cleaned the first three days.
The ’President Villa’ is the building next to the President Hotel - just a few steps away and interconnected. Pool is on the roof of the Villa building, and breakfast is in the main hotel building. Cannot tell if there is any difference between the two of them, room-wise.
There will not be a room ’with a view’ even if you have a balcony.
We arrived early in the morning and could not check in before 15:00 - as expected from the confirmation. Thanks to Sandra at the front desk we got early pool access after lunch and she helped us with a lot of questions and was very helpful during our stay. Roof top pool is nice with sunbeds and pool towels and a shower. Would have been great if beer, drinks and snacks were sold - because you are not allowed to bring any yourself to the pool area. Pool closes at 19:00.
Mike made sure our check-in was quick and easy. Yes - bring a credit card for the deposition they reserve and pay back if you behave and do not break anything 😊 We got free drink tickets for the bar (open 17:00-22:00) as a welcome gift.
The hotel is just behind Ocean Drive and maybe 200 meters from the beach. You can pick up beach towels and water bottles at the front desk. Beach is HUGE, and sunbeds are available but you rent then from vendors at the beach.
Perfect spot and close to restaurants, shops, cafés, buses and Miami Trolley (free, and also has an app to track routs and trolleys). Miami is VERY expensive and all resaurants included a 20% service charge on an already expenive bill. If you are in a hurry - do not trust the bus timetables (!). Very convenient with a Wahlgreens store just across the street.
Parking in the street is only allowed 4 hours (!) and $4-6 dollars per hour. Parking garage one block (?) away is around $25 or more per night, whilst valet parking with the hotel is $20/4 hours or $35 per night.
The breakfast buffee had a lot to offer. You get served (!) scrambled eggs, fried potatoe, sausage/bacon, waffles, toast, bagles, ham, fruit and some days sweet pastry. You get to help yourself with the yoghurt, cereals, juices, coffee, tea, water, hot chocolate (powder) and instant oatmeal. Maybe not everything a teenager wants, but hey - go buy some nutella from Wahlgreens across the street 😋 Breakfast is 7:30-10:30 and yes - sometimes it is going to a line and a bit crowded. You can sit inside, in the yard or outside overlooking the street.
And then there is Kevon, the big guy who puts a smile on your face everyday! He works the door, takes care of your luggage, helps out in the kitchen and the floor during breakfast service and keeps track of everybody 🤗
Not an exclusive standards hotel but good value for money and great staff and service. Read the fine print with whom you book - some hotels or deals may/may not include a daily ’resort fee’ per person. And if you go here - say hello to Toby the hotel cat that rests outside between the...
Read moreOVERALL: this is NOT a resort, and hotel is just fine. The location is great and that’s the only reason they can charge the prices they are charging. So if you’re looking for easy access to South Beach, it’s a decent place to stay. If you’re looking for a relaxing resort and fancy hotel - go elsewhere.
Starting this one off with the bad:
We got off the plane, headed to President Hotel, and….there was nobody at the front desk to check us in. This was around 11pm, so all we wanted to do was check-in and go to bed. Another couple was in front of us and had been waiting for half an hour already. We called…nobody was at the front desk, so no answer. After some googling we learned that the hotel was connected with the Penguin Hotel nearby, so we went there. The man there was clearly frustrated — sounded like it wasn’t the first time this has happened — so he came back to the President with us and helped us and the other couple checkin. From arrival to check in took an hour.
We were not offered any recourse or anything which was disappointing. We were told to ‘talk to the manager’ the next day, who was only around for an hour or so and we were busy during those times.
The room was…fine. It was a room, nothing special. There were a lot of water marks on the ceiling and the towels kind of sucked. They were super thin.
Room service is only upon request, or after 3 days of staying there. We were only there for a quick weekend, so we did not use this.
The pool looked nice, but it was cold! I bet it’s a hit in the summer, but for November it was a bummer that it wasn’t heated a little. Would’ve made for a great end-of-day experience.
The elevator was a bit janky and took a few tries before the buttons would get selected and take you to your floor
The good:
Location, location, location. Just a few minutes walk to the beach, Espanola way, and plenty of restaurants. It’s also close to plenty of City Bikes which is a nice way to get around! They give out beach towels which is nice You get 2 drink tickets for the stay, for use at the hotel bar Free breakfast — it’s standard continental — nothing to write home about, but it’s nice that they have it The hotel is expensive. With the price, plus the extra $29/day “resort fee” (which is BS because this is very much NOT a resort!!), you’re paying for the location. Unfortunately this seems to be the norm in...
