Avoid This Hotel at All Costs â A Nightmare Stay from Start to Finish
If youâre considering staying at this property, think again. Our recent visit was riddled with issues that left us frustrated, disappointed, and unwilling to stay more than one night. Hereâs a breakdown of the appalling experience we endured:
Parking Lies and Deception The website claimed free street parking was available nearby. Not true. Upon arrival, the front desk casually informed us that the information was outdated and parking was either restricted or required contracted arrangements. In Miami Beach, where parking is already a headache, this was an infuriating and unnecessary hassle. Misleading guests is unacceptable.
Towels? What Towels? Despite booking for a family of four, we were given TWO towelsâand nothing else. No hand towels, no face towels, nothing. When we asked for more, we were offered a bathmat and a beach towel (seriously?). Housekeeping staff were rude and adamant weâd already been given âenough.â For a four-night stay, this level of service was ridiculous.
The Mattress from Hell The bed was awful. The mattress slanted toward the center of the room, making it impossible to sleep comfortablyâespecially when sharing it. It was worn-out and overdue for replacement. Calling it âlow qualityâ is putting it kindly.
Noisy, Unsafe, and Disruptive Environment Paper-thin walls and ceilings made for sleepless nights, as we were constantly disturbed by loud footsteps and voices. To make matters worse, a man was loitering outside our room, blasting music, shouting obscenities, and making comments to passersby. This made my family feel extremely unsafe. I didnât dare contact the front desk out of fear of waking my childrenâor worse, putting us in danger. Adding to the misery, light from the pool area poured into our room through a flimsy door with inadequate shades, ensuring we never had a dark or restful night.
Moldy Smells Everywhere The room and common areas reeked of dampness and mildew, leaving us to wonder about the hotelâs cleanliness standardsâor lack thereof. Judging from other reviews, this seems to be a chronic problem theyâve failed to address.
Insulting Customer Service The final straw came on Christmas Eve. My wife and I approached the front desk, hoping for some kind of resolution. Instead of addressing our concerns with empathy, the staff was rude, dismissive, and defensive. They tried to blame our âthird-party booking,â even though we had booked directly through their website. The complete lack of accountability or even a basic apology was maddening.
We ultimately left after just one night, forfeiting the remainder of our stay because we simply couldnât endure another night in such a terrible environment.
When following up with the propertyâs owner and manager directly, we were met with little care and unresponsiveness. Ultimately, they offered the following âsolutions,â which are entirely useless to us as Minnesota residents who will never consider one of their properties again: ⢠A complimentary room upgrade, ⢠VIP treatment throughout our stay, and ⢠A complimentary brunch at their restaurant.
Bottom Line: This hotel completely failed on all fronts: cleanliness, comfort, safety, and customer service. Itâs a disorganized, poorly managed property that prioritizes excuses over solutions. Save yourself the frustration and book anywhere elseâyou deserve better.
Stay far away from this...
Read moreI'm super torn about this review because the hotel itself was GREAT! The location was awesome, a quiet part of Miami Beach, our building (8320 Harding) was 2 blocks from an area of the beach that was mostly visited by locals and wasn't overcrowded, and we were just a couple blocks (literally a 3-min drive) away from awesome dining options and great coffee. Our room was huge, clean and updated, the kitchen was a nice bonus and we loved the double vanities. We always found free street parking too. Pet-friendliness is also a huge plus! However, customer service at this place is just terrible. Not only do they never pick up the phone when you call them, they barely clean your room and the hotel staff you bump into occasionally don't even say hi back to you, but they will straight up ignore you, lie to you and lie about you when you bring up an issue to them. We extended our stay by 3 extra days and on the original check-out day we asked them to clean the room and change the sheets because it was the 4th day of our stay, they were supposed to do it on the 3rd (but they didn't) and they were gonna do it anyway had we checked out. When we got back to the room that day, we found that a bunch of things that were previously on the floor got placed on our UNMADE (!) bed - something that is incredibly disgusting to me (yes, I might be a bit of a germophobe when it comes bedsheets, but I still don't think it's okay to toss random things from the floor on the bed and then not make it or change the sheets). This was at 5 pm. I immediately called the front desk and told them to send someone to change the sheets, the lady at the front desk said okay. We waited an hour, nothing. I called again, she said the housekeeping staff told her they were not be able to change our sheets because "there were too many things on the bed". I told her that's simply not true, if anything, they put a bunch of dirty stuff on there and that's exactly what my problem is, but she told me housekeeping has already left so the maximum she can do is send someone over with fresh sheets, but I'd have to change them myself. I said fine, just send me clean sheets. Another TWO HOURS go by, nothing. We call again, this time I'm actually upset, so my husband speaks to her - she claims somebody came to our door and knocked but we wouldn't open up, so they left. My husband informed her that this was not true because we were sitting right outside our door in the courtyard and nobody came at all, and once again asked her to send us the clean sheets. Finally, 30 minutes later, a visibly upset and hostile man showed up and gave me the sheets, clearly hating me for troubling him and being very rude to me. I understand that this is not a 5-star hotel, but changing sheets, especially upon request, is the bare minimum at any hotel. So is picking up the phone at the front desk. Either way, I was super disappointed in housekeeping staff and front desk staff (except Angel - he was great!), and I hope the issue of their attitude and the way they treat guests will be addressed by management at some point, because fixing that would make this place a truly amazing...
Read moreThe location is acceptable. The checking process is a total mess. You get confusing emails where to check in. I have no clue why you have to go to multiple locations when we have internet nowadays. Parking is non-existent, so prepare to fight for it. Not all complexes have a pool, but you can walk to visit the others. The assigned room was just fraudulent: no toilet paper in the bathroom, no frying pans or glasses in the kitchen, no garbage bins, but the worst part was about finding out that the bed frame was broken. Because there is no parking, we wasted 1hr repacking and requesting another room. There is no discount for the inconvenience. They do not perform an inspection, and the city shall perform safety inspections frequently as someone can break their back. The apartments are partially remodeled but very cheap. Everything is either bad quality or breaking down. The front desk doesn't answer the phone. They state 24hrs around the clock response, and that is a lie. It is cheap and allows pets at no extra charge, and it's close to the only walking distance dog beach in Miami, so if you have those situations, maybe stay here. But it's better to go somewhere else. The card keys they provide fail leaving you locked out and having to walk all the way to the lobby were poorly trained employees can take 30 mins to program them again. Just give regular keys at this point. Housekeeping is stated to happen every 3 days, yet they do not perform it, breaking the contract, allowing you to label the transaction as fraud. The furnishings are all from IKEA and are all worn out. Homeless people tend to squat the common areas, and management does nothing about it. Not even salt and pepper or napkins are provided. The amenities do not work well, such as the toilets that are so old that clog every time you pee and overflow causing an unhealthy mess. There are no cleaning supplies to even do it yourself. The bathtub had no plug. All rooms needed to have the AC filter changed. Even the service lamp was on. Because of this, all rooms smell either like mildew or cigarette. There are no garbage bins for the living rooms or bedrooms. Not even a bag. No drying towels for the kitchen. The stoves are falling apart. The cabinets are all broken and can fall at any time under your head. Cable boxes of the TVs do not work as they do not pay the service. Frequent construction, rather quick cheap fixes, happen during the mornings and afternoons where workers appear to throw around furniture and drill walls to turn them into cheese shavers. Pet owners beware: the rooms have flea eggs. They do not clean properly the rooms even though they advertise pets are allowed. The owner(s) of this place should feel very ashamed, but they lack empathy and prefer to defraud people who want to relax and have fun by performing false advertisements and not doing the housekeeping as stated and with proper quality. Be sure to use a credit card if you end up staying here to get...
