A TRUE CREATURE COMFORT BAR! When you are exhausted from the beat booming', dance light flickering, 100+ chair joints along the several main strips of South Beach, and you are all about to give up on finding the bar you have yet to find and finally have that cocktail you've been pining for all day in a space that says exhale and return to sanity, you will do best to do yourself a favor and GO HERE!!! The cocktails at The Scapegoat are bespoke, intuitively designed for your palette, delivered by a server who truly provides the service that service workers respect, tip their glass to and customers should appreciate and look for from other establishments. Not to slag off any other Miami bar servers, because it's a tough gig to always shine within, but Tom Lasher-Walker (the owner) was amazing and provided me with an evening of cocktail bliss, phenomenal service and industry-sympathetic chat (it's rough out there right now folks, SUPPORT THE SERVICE INDUSTRY! DRINK MORE!!!). Where this man goes for future pursuits, you should follow, for his drink list is specially curated and gives props to the establishments and individuals that have gifted theses refreshing & complex delights (punk rock cred matters to some of us). This review may seem lofty with the compliments, but they are all true and deserved. The only shit part of this review is that I found a great new spot, but live on the west coast so cannot attend in the frequency I'd like to. Thank Tom! Cheers and come to SF...

I hate to say I didn't have a great experience here. It was very likely because they just recently reopened after having been closed for C19 precautions. It may have been that they had to hire new staff, who did not have a lot of experience. The atmosphere is great, that's obvious from the pictures. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. The staff also seem to have a good knowledge of their liquor inventory. However it seemed the mixology skills were that of a beginner, or a person in training. For example, we ordered an old fashioned, a boozey cocktail staple, that came out watery, put together with typical restaurant ice, and tasted like it was made with store-bought premixed old-fashioned cocktail starter. Also, maybe I'm splitting hairs at this point but, I asked for a two-finger pour of blended Scotch whiskey, Monkey Shoulder, got less than I asked for, but was...

The Scape Goat is a tiny bar specializing in cocktails that have some love in them. The flavors are clearly well thought through and never made in haste. I enjoyed a thyme and rye concoction that provided just enough that was intriguing to the palate but didn't take away from the distiller's presence. Here is where an evening should feel slow to appreciate the craft and get to know your neighbor. The small atmosphere creates and cozy but at times crowded space. Bartenders are easy to chat with and they definitely take their skill seriously. In a location surrounded by others that serve flashing fish bowls of alcoholic sugar water the Scape Goat is a beacon and worth a visit. I was a stranger in a strange land that night but thanks for making me feel briefly...

Server very attentive and helpful. Good spot to stop after the beach or a walk for a drink and some vibes

Craft cocktail bar we found during our recent trip to South Beach. Off the beaten path on a side street and tucked away so you’ll probably have to seek the place out rather than stumble upon it. Small intimate spot with limited seating. The photos on line and menu looked appealing and what brought us to the bar. We got a Rose Petal and a Fancy George. The bartender advised that the drinks were strong and alcohol forward but we didn’t find that to be the case. The drinks were okay but came in small glasses and weren’t even full. The RosePetal didn’t taste like much of anything to me and the Fancy George was tastier but still nothing special. We finished our drinks and moved on.
