My coworkers and I ordered delivery, admittedly through Uber, for this restaurant.
The restaurant decided to give our order to someone else without verifying who they were or whether they were even with Uber.
Once our driver showed up, they realized their error. Instead of recognizing their mistake and exhibiting proper customer service and making a brand new order for us, the restaurant called and effectively said “too bad contact Uber for a refund.”
The restaurant already lost money giving the order to the wrong person. Their fault entirely. The smart thing to do would’ve been to never call us in the first place and remake the order.
But I guess common sense and customer service is lacking these days.
We would order from them every week or other week. Now, we’ll never order from them again.
Strongly advise against ordering from here if you ever want to get your food.

In response to the restaurant responding to this review:
We were never once told by either the Uber driver, or your staff, that you were recooking the order.
I do not know what your staff told you or added to their own story, but I can tell you with certainty that if we knew or were told by anyone that it was being cooked again, we would have waited. We would not have wasted the time ordering from somewhere else and taking an additional hour to get any breakfast.
Why, as hungry customers, would we wait an additional hour for food we’re so hungry for? Why would we take the time, while waiting for said food, to write this review? Why would we do all that if we were told the food was being remade as fast as possible?
I love this restaurant’s food. But the response by the owner is just disappointing. So quick to dismiss our side of what happened, never once to suggest that maybe, just maybe, someone didn’t completely or clearly convey to us, the customer, what was going on.
Because again, why would we go through all this effort if we knew everything in the world was being done to rectify the problem? The answer is we wouldn’t.
Very disappointing.
And finally, Uber eats may be beyond your control. But giving our order to someone else (which is what we were told by your employees was what happened) is entirely in your control.
You lament that I came here writing this review and are bothered that I won’t give your restaurant another chance but in the same breath you attack me for giving my version of events that I experienced.
Instead of saying a simple “I’m very sorry you had this experience, please allow us the chance to rectify this problem in the future. I can assure you it’s been resolved.” You come here attacking me.
Why would I ever give the restaurant another chance if that’s how the owner treats a legitimate (based on what I...
Read moreWas in there all of one minute...that was more than enough for one of the waitresses to drive my mom and I away from there today, and possibly for good. (I say waitress to be politically correct, but her attitude on the job is an insult to other waitresses who actually believe in doing a good job and treating customers like humans)
In a nutshell, my mom and I walk in to have breakfast as I know the food’s fresh there. Just to note: my mom has two bad knees and can barely walk. We sit down at the first table we see. The lady comes and asks us if we’re waiting on others. Turns out the table we sat at is reserved for parties of 3-4, so she asks us to choose another table just for two.
We choose one of the tables she suggested which is further to the back, close to the cooler and bathroom. That table was attached to another set of tables where there were a few guys already sitting down. I pull the table aside so as to not bother the other guys. She later comes over and asks us to move because according to her the fact that we moved the table makes it a “fire hazard”. First she says it’s available and then later says it’s not? You work here so I assume you come here often...you should know how the tables are set up, right?
We walk out and drive away. My mom later calls and a lady picks up which she believes was the same lady. She asks to speak to the manager and rudely goes off asking for details. (who she is, what she needs, etc.) She leaves her on hold and then comes back to the phone saying the manager left and would be back in an hour.
This lack of consideration for those who are incapacitated is the biggest reason I’m disappointed and would not consider this place as a food option again. I recommend walking a few more steps and eating over at Monimbo, where there’s fresh Nica food all...
Read moreThe food here is REALLY good. The chef has won several awards, always has a very creative and delicious burger of the month. He also does a sandwich of the week as well, which makes ordering difficult because everything is SO GOOD. Also, it’s nice to have a go-to cuban food spot that isn’t one of the chains like La carreta or Sergio’s.
Unfortunately, the good food might just not be enough. Every time I come here, the service is severely lacking. For being a diner-style spot that should be quick and easy for lunch, it always takes an extremely long time to get any servers’ attention. I feel as though I have to beg for my water to be refilled. While the food comes out quickly, the time between the other aspects of dining in is very long. I’m usually a big tipper and never leave less than 20%, but the service is so poor that I can’t justify tipping when I had to walk up to the counter to ask for water (the third time) and walk up to ask for my check.
I wish they would convert to counter-style and eliminate the concept of having a server. the establishment would probably save money and the dining experience would be way better. I would come here for lunch way more often if the experience wasn’t a total let down every time.
Back to the upsides, I also really LOVE the juices here! They are delicious. And breakfast counter service is a lot better and easier than dining in for lunch or dinner. I love being able to grab a good breakfast or lunch here after a red-eye flight.
Parking lot isn’t big but I have never been left without a parking spot either.
Overall I hope Airport Cafe starts to take customer service a little bit more seriously. This place has so much untapped potential! The food can be great but the...
